997.281: /Mae Lee/ Lands on Serbia

The /Blue Rain/ lands on Serbia about an hour ahead of the /Mae Lee/
however, the larger ship approaches the planet with out incident.

Ricardo, Lysia, Cory and Arvitis are on the bridge. Ukanav is back
in engineering. Woof has joined Mira, Jac and Lessa in Sickbay.

Arvitis projects the image of Serbia on the screens of the consoles
around the ship. And sends out a comm, "Take a look everyone."

Serbia is a ball of greens, browns and blues. There are few lights
on the dark side, and only a few communication satellites in
orbit around the planet. There is a map with the picture showing the
Starport, in the northern hemisphere, and it will be for another
four ,or so, hours. The final approach and landing should only take
a couple of hours, so you'll have a little time before dark after
you land.

Permission to land is given from the Port tower and the large ship
glides down through the thick atmosphere. Ricardo bleeds off
velocity and makes a long slow descent that doesn't tax the hull or
any of the ship's systems. The descent takes the ship over the
southern landmass the the equatorial ocean and then over wide farm
lands with only small villages and isolated farm houses. Finally,
you see a larger town, and the distinctive tower of a landing field.
This is the Starport...or what passes for one on Serbia.

The landing is smooth on the flat tarmac. After directions are
given, Ricardo taxis the ship over to a grassy field near the tarmac
and parks the ship. You all note that all of the small Port's berths
are occupied. The Blue Rain is in one, a 200 tonner is in another,
and a larger one, probably 400 tons is in the third. The ship you
were following is the 200 ton ship.

The sensors show the gravity outside is 1.12 g, the atmosphere is
1.3 sap and the temperature is 18 degrees C. You receive a message
from the Port Captain saying he will be coming over to greet and
inspect your papers in about 20 minutes and there are also 2 brokers
already at the port waiting to talk to you about your cargo.

"Hey, look at that!" he says, indicating the creatures and their

Woof gets a through sniff with wet noses, and the
orange one starts rubbing the sides of its face
against Woof's hand and making a purring sound
deep in its throat.

OOC: You have cargo to deliver to Serbia that will
free up a lot of space in the cargo hold. You also
have some speculative cargo that Shawn purchased.
Shawn dealt with all of that while Woof was busy
with Lessa, did he bring Woof up to speed on any
of it?

OOC: I think he means for the ship.

Shawn did bring him up to speed during jump.

20 dtons of computer parts. 19 belong to the ship and 1 belongs to Shawn. Purchased at 120k Marks
per dton.

OOC: Sorry, Terry. Once you took on the meat, your cargo room went down
too low to buy the entire 20 dtons, so I filled up the hold with as much
as you could carry...7 dtons: 1 for Shawn and 6 for the ship. Don't
worry, you'll still make a nice profit, you hope, on your spec
cargo...oops! Shawn isn't brokering for the /Mae Lee/ at the moment is
he?

Oh, and you should also know that Jac pulled a lot of money out of the
Royal Merchantile Bank account for you to take along with you. He
figured you'd need cash more than money in a bank out where you're
going. You have 520,000 cr in the ship's safe. But don't worry, you
still over a million still in bank accounts.

"Well, we'll get 'em on the horn, Captain. Thanks and we'll see you in
a few." Ricardo says.

He announces to the crew. "Ok everyone, we got 15 minutes to figure out
what to do with those critters we picked up. I don't think they're
going to fine tooth the ship but we should be prepared with a story
nonetheless."

"Mira. what did we do with the body?"

"Cory, start getting your burglar alarm sensor grid set up. I hope
those kidnappers aren't going to try something here in port, but I
wouldn't put it past them either."

"I'll defer to the security officer on the watch schedule. " He looks
at Lysia, "Low key, we can't LOOK like we're on high alert." He shakes
his head. " And we're short handed, too!"

He comms the brokers. "Howdy! The Port Cap says you want to talk to
me..."

"What do you mean 'do with those critters?'" Lessa
replies, a bit of heat in her voice, "If you don't
want them, then, just say they are mine."

"Greetings, Captain." you get a video feed showing
a man and a woman. Both seem happy to see you.

The woman is speaking for the pair, "Captain
Mitwell is correct." she smiles.

"I am Joyce Ellis and this fellow is Link Orion,
and we're the brokers here on Serbia." She says.

"You don't happen to have a cargo aboard from
Rosco Ollis for me, do you?" the man leans forward
and asks.

"I was expecting it this week, but it wasn't
aboard the free trader that landed yesterday.", he
adds with a touch of a frown crossing his
features, "Unpleasant bunch that was, too."

The woman, Joyce, jumps in, "We both have freight
that needs to be transported, both toward Mark and
toward Montrose, so if you're looking to fill your
hold, then we're the ones to talk to."

The man, Link, adds smiling, "And we *both* want
to talk to you about any cargo you have aboard you
might be interested in selling."

Lysia smiles a little, "I can do subtle you know, in spite of having worked

She taps her computer a moment, "How many people do I have to work with for

After the call's over he pulls up the inventory and sees what Shawn

"Yes." Link says simply. Ellis nods and adds,
"Normally, we can't afford to *not* do business
with any traders, but with four ships in port at
one time we can be a bit more selective."

delivery."

Looking at the Cargo Manifest, Ricardo sees...

(see Cargo Manifest)

...you've got *no* room aboard for any sort of
cargo at the moment, but when you deliver the 133
dtons of frieght to Link, you'll have that room
for freight or cargo. You have 6 dtons of Computer
Parts aboard as Speculative Cargo. Shawn paid
120,000 cr a dton for it. You notice that Shawn
also bought 1 dton of those parts for himself and
stored it aboard.
