On the radar screens, you can see both the /Blue Rain/, in low orbit above, and the bad-guy's craft flying near the surface. The grav craft is approaching a farm a good 20 klicks away from the one their course should have taken them to. Suddenly, the /Blue Rain/ falls like a rock toward the ground. It comes down fast, ripping through the air, going right over the Hooter village and the grav craft, ending up hovering just above the ground next to the target farm. A very loud double sonic boom sweeps out from the ship's path. Inside the /Random Walk/ the booms are loud and distinct. They must have been destructively loud right along its path near the ground...like at the farmhouse. Woof steers the boat to come in toward the farm from the other direction, and will be right *at* the farm in under 10 seconds. Ahead you can see the farm, now. There are no lights inside...it is early morning here...but you see a door open and what looks like several figures emerging from the house. The figures are clustered, so you can't distinguish how many, but it looks like 2 to 4. They appear to be moving quickly from the house toward a grove of trees just beyond the farm on the side away from the /Blue Rain/. You can drop the /Random Walk/ between them and the grove, or between them and the house, or literally drop right on top of them! Eris AKU GM

Once the boat is brought to a halt, depending on where it stops, I would expect someone to throw the doors open, and you all to rush out to confront the people on the ground, *and/or* to use the speaker on the surface of the boat to order them to stand and deliver while training the boat's glazer (capable of turning them all into bits and pieces if fired) on them. OOC: And Mira, getting her post in first, calls the shot... The boat drops in front of the group causing them to skid to a halt. Jac flings the door open and jumps out, followed by Mira and Lessa. Cory, and Arvitis are behind them. In the bright lights from the boat, you see the group of people consist of a man of about 30, a woman about the same age, an old man well into his 70's or 80's, and a little girl. All are dressed in long flowing gowns that appear to be made of some sort of home spun cloth. None of them appear to be armed. The Hooters blink and hold their arms up as the bright lights shining on them. You are in the shadows behind the lights and are invisible, or merely shadows, at the moment. Lessa shouts, "Rachel!" and pushes forward toward the group. The little girl yanks herself free and screaming, "Mommy, comes running toward the darkness as fast as her short legs can carry her." The Hootish woman grabs after the girl calling out, "Mary....", but the little girl keeps running, eluding her grasp. The two men are still trying to shade their eyes. At the edge of the dividing line between light and shadow mother and child reach each other, and Rachel throws herself into Lessa's arms. Lessa spins back toward the still open hatch on the side of the /Random Walk/. "Let's go!" she shouts as she rushes back toward the hatch. OOC: Yeah, I guess I could have done that without you...but I *do* want to give you a chance to talk to the hooters...or take some other actions...if you so desire. Eris AKU GM

I'm also still worried about the local authorities. We don't want warrents for us floating between the worlds. On the other hand, if we force them down and capture them, then we could lift in their ship and then salvage it, of course, which would greatly increase the profitability of this jaunt. Not to mention the ships flight records could really shed some light on their and possibly their bosses past endeavors. Not that we have to capture them to get at their ship but it might make it easier. I guess if we splash them, as you so aptly put it, I could always forge a warrent for the vessel from Mark. Jac might could make sure it was upheld after the fact, just for the intel value, but then we run the risk of a back fire leaving us wanted on two worlds. The former is only possible if duplex com and encryption are available and the standard. -- Earl F Hampton http://hamiii.sytes.net/index.phtml

Just after Mira jumps back inside, Jac dives in after her and shouts to Woof, "Let's go!" As the boat begins lifting and moving away the /Blue Rain/ sees this. OOC: Okay, what now? Going Air/Raft hunting, or not? The original plan was for the boat and ship to rendezvous at that coastal cove where Arvitis would transfer over, and then the /Blue Rain/ was to make a noisy exit from the system letting everyone, including the bad guys, think that it has the girl aboard. The authorities might not even know about this unless the Hooters tell them, and they might very well not say any thing. Eris AKU GM

Woof says as he begins closing the outer lock, pulling up the landing feet and heading out at a high rate of speed. "Success. I say again, success. Next stop 'Checkpoint Charlie' for our wet rendezvous! /Rain do you copy?/" he says. Of course, if the senior members of the crew overrule him, that can be adjusted. >OOC: Okay, what now? It was merrily heading along it's own, wrong, path until the /Blue Rain/ came crashing down, then it stopped and started to hover. After a few seconds, it drops down toward the ground, falling out of sensor contact. The air/raft, at best, is still several minutes from getting to this farm at its best speed. Eris AKU GM
