Issac moves to the ship

Issac goes to the apartment he's been sharing with a couple of
interns and recovers his bag. He grabs the copy of "Annals of
Emergency Medicine" he'd been reading, and heads for the Starport.
Once there, he checks the tlotlneshkroqr* in its case out of the
weapons locker inside the extrality line, and heads to the Akus Moby.

Once on the Akus, he finds Paris, to find out which is his room, then
finds his way to the sick bay and starts checking things out.

OOC> *tlotlneshkroqr is now the name for the Zhodani Officer's sword
Issac has.

The internet is a funny place. I wanted a zho-sounding name for the
thing, and I vaguely remembered that there was a Zhodani word
generator somewhere. So I google for it, and lo and behold three
pages into Google there's a link to a C program that was posted (in
the TML) in '91. I click on the link, find that section of the digest
from the TML archives that were posted somewhere and proceed to save
it and compile the program.

Then I look at the link I was sent to by Google. It was a link to MY
OWN COMPUTER.

( "The C code is
compiling...FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!!" )

I know, it's sad, but I'm a geek, what do you expect :-P

Paris is forward, getting a first aid kit. She gives him a smile of greeting and waves him towards Cabin 4; her voice trails back as she trots towards engineering, "Had a little injury--nothing major--if you don't mind coming to take a look..."

Her voice fades as she heads into Engineering.

Issac drops his bag and the sword case, digs out his medikit bag from
it and follows Paris to Engineering.

"Here we go--unwrap that cloth...what did you do to yourself--and that reminds me," Paris said, addressing both women as she cleaned the wound, "Do you need additional clothing, safety-sort, for back here? Jumpsuits, anything like that?"

She's not doing the best job--its adequate, though...

"Is just a scrape," Desdaemona says looking at Paris and Issac, "I could
just use Spongebob band-aid or something."

The boney redhead stands up, turns around, and pulls her top up to her
shoulders exposing almost all of her her back. A line of scar tissues
extends
from just below her bra on the right to her hip bone on the left, there are
a number of other more orderly scars around her spine where the long
scar passes over it.

"Tells you what," Des says with a chuckle, "when I does this again, then
we cans bring doctor in for consultation."

There's a black angular angular tatoo barely visable under the left side
of her bra strap and another woven pattern that barely peaks out above
the waist band of her pants in the small of her back.

Paris' eyes widen for a moment, then her calm demeanor is back.

"Nice Tat," Paris comments, sitting back down in the chair that she'd evacuated and raising an eye at the Doctor. "Not to intrude--but those are pretty interesting scars. Got a story you care to tell about it?"

"Ya," Des says pulling down her top and looking back
at the workstation, "I cuts myself shaving."

A sly grin spreads across her face, "I tolds story in

broke back, left me for dead."

"Remind me to show you leg some day."

"Was two months in lowberth and another three months in
Towelie hospital before I coulds walk again." Des keeps
her eye's on the display as the information from the
system tests spill out. Talking about it doesn't seem
to bother her all that much.

It's what Desi said it was, a simple scrape. It looks like she barked
her knuckles on a piece of metal or something.

Issac knows that the scars could have been completely removed if Desi
had had *proper* medical attention. The scar could be from a cutlass
strike...he's seen similar wounds, but of that size they are usually
open and on dead bodies. The smaller scars along the backbone look like
repair work on the woman's back, perhaps where it was broken, but again,
there shouldn't be this level of scaring. Not a very good job, in
Issac's opinion.

Issac says "Not the best surgical work I've ever seen, but any back
surgery you can walk away from...".

He packs his bag back up. "We should someday get you to some real
surgeons...if the job they did inside is like what they did outside,
you got a fair bit of pain, stiffness, occasional numbness, tingling
in your legs, stuff like that, right? A decent surgeon should get you
back close to 100%. Make you look less like a chopping block, too."

He turns back, and goes to where he dropped his duffle and stuff,
picks it up and goes to his assigned cabin. He dumps his stuff, then
heads to the med bay.

He looks inside. "Whew! 20 coffins!" He hits the ship comm. "Uhh,
Merrin, isn't it? We going to be flying peoplcicles right off? If so
it's gonna take me a day or three to check and run diagnostics on all
these low berths. "

While waiting for her reply, he starts inventory. How is everything?

The equipment looks to be in good repair, but the medical locker is
completely empty of consumables and drugs. You will need to put in a
complete supply of both. In the service you'd put in a requisition and
wait for a supply clerk to fill it, as a civilian you think you'll need
to get the money from the Captain or his XO and then go shopping....

Issac says, "Let me look, just for practice ok?" He looks at the
wound, making sure there isn't foreign material in it, then hits it
with a combo-spray (antibiotic + painkill) then covers it with a
bandaid. He reaches in and fishes a blue nitrile glove from his bag.

"I be finished bleeding by the time you finish bandaging,"
Des smirks a little, "I stops bleeding in about 30 seconds
from most minor wounds, gots good platelet count. They
always wants my blood."

"At time it no hurt at all," Desdaemona goes quiet
as she looks at the digital display. "When woke up
couldn't figure out why I couldn't get up. Couldn't
feel nothing for about a day then back started to burn
like liquid fire."
