The best place to do this will be at one of the Ship's Chandlers near the port facilities. Everything a ship needs should be available there. They better have some cash on them when they go shopping... Both Isaac and Paris know that on Glisten there will be a raft of paperwork for *everything*...a raft of paperwork that can be conveniently avoided with the proper application of a bit of grease. That's just the way things work on Glisten. If you want to get your cargo, or supplies delivered, much less loaded, you have to grease the palms of the local stevedore's union, the municipal inspectors, and the port authorities. If you want to buy anything beyond the bare basics that a ship needs...like weapons of any kind, drugs and prescription medicines, even luxury food and drink then rules and regulations and reams of paperwork await you, unless you "expedite" things with a well placed "gratuity" or two. Okay, to get anything done on Glisten is going to take some skill at Liaison, if not outright Bribery! OOC: Have fun! ;) Eris Akus Moby

How *COMPLETE* do you want for an equipment list? I can do the Fredonia book if I need...

OOC: The must have list: basic medical supplies, antibotics/pain meds/ assorted other meds, like motion sickness stuff, etc. A variety of bandages, cast materials, superficial surgical instruments (for cleaning up cuts, etc. I'm assuming we use glue and sprays for a lot of stuff 3000 years from now :-). Would like to have: meds for rarer conditions, obstetric supplies, materials for more major, but still outpatient surgery. Would really like to have: full surgical suite, DCAT scanner for full body scans (Densitometer Computer Aided Tomography...sort of a magic xray machine.) I'll declare that the ship has a basic handheld one, suitable for identifying joint injuries and closed-skin breaks on extremities, but the one Issac would *rather* have is a full body scanner. Must have == well equipped doctors office or basic clinic. Would like to have == well equipped medical clinic (think the med bay on the "Serenity") Would really like to have == well equipped emergency room or basic trauma center. I'll let Eris decide how much all of this costs, and what's there right now. IC: "Some of this really nice stuff, like the DCAT, we might be able to find surplus along the line."

OOC: This isn't going to be "Adventures in Accounting!" ;) You don't have to give me a list except for items you *absolutely* want to have in stock and feel deserve mentioning. Things you might mention would be things like weapons, vacc suits, rescue balls, hazmat (environment) suits, air filters/rebreathers, personal comm gear for the crew...that sort of thing...and you don't need to get it all now, just start stocking your Ship's Locker. The cost for consumables is going to end up being about (and it will vary a bit depending on location, skills, etc) 1000 cr per person per week. Or 2000 cr for the 2 week jump, as listed in the books. :) You don't need a list for that. Does that help? IC: The pair take a grav dolly and start walking up and down the aisles picking out supplies. Paris knows that she can get a "standard life support" loadout from someone working here, so she is only looking for gear over and above the standard things the passengers and crew will consume during jump. The shelves have packaged and sealed boxes containing basic supplies that a ship's sick bay would need. He should be able to simply take a box here and there to get the supplies he needs. While Issac is doing that, Paris is continuing to browse around. She is looking for various items the ship is going to need. A few minutes pass and both shoppers have found what they need... OOC: Details aren't needed, unless you want certain items to definitely be in sickbay or in the ship's locker when you go to look for them later. OOG: Sasha? Paris. Sasha is Paris' name for the Captain...that I do not believe she's used in public, yet. Paris looked up from her PDA which overflowed with requests and needs. "How much?" she asked. "I can do quite a bit--but...aren't those in the Hundred-K price range?"

Paris gave him an only moderately exasperated look, once that he gets the feeling that could turn absolutely evil if he were not particularly careful. "No." It was a single word used in the same totality one might find from expressions as "Black Hole" and tempered with the same general tone of voice used by one's mother when she called for you--and used your middle name. "We don't have that kind ofmoney," Paris explained, as though to a rather slow child that was fascinated by the goodies behind a candy store counter, "I would love to buy all sorts of things--but we have to stay to the basics and just a bit beyond, all right, Issac?" OOG: Almost used his whole name... She sighed and went back to her PDA and checked the list. "I think that's about it--now--to pay for shipping and handling--good grief, I'm going broke..."

"Well," she said to no one in particular but Issac in specific, "The Captain has a cargo agreement up--still can't buy you your nice toy--but we've got a wee bit more operating funds--and what do you need to finish getting the corpsicle tubes up and running for low passenger shipment again?"

Issac says "Just the sensor patches, and the glyc-blood additive, and those were in with the things we just bought. I got a box of 100 sensor patches, and 500 doses of the glyc-blood, should keep us a couple trips at least. They had a good price on the glyc-blood, and most folks need two or three doses. Now all we need are suckers to freeze."

Picking out a CC, she sent, "Sasha, Dame Sharda, please place advertisements for low-berth passage; we may be able to accept a minimal amount of additional passengers in mid and hi as well--stand by on the money-makers." It can be considered to be most inconvenient when workers allow ethics to interfere with the smooth operation of any organization.

Issac goes back and picks out a few more needed medical supplies, adds another of the boxes of the glcy-blood packets and two boxes of sensor patches...lingers a minute in front of the more expensive items, then with a sigh walks away and buys a box of Slow and another of Fast. His sickbay will be equipped more like a field clinic slash emergency room than a hospital, but he should be able to stablize most injuries and keep his patients alive long enough to get them to better facility, at least. Issac's sickbay is ready. Eris Akus
