The ship enters the area designated for its jump and the
bridge and engineering crew working together smoothly
transition the ship from normal to jump space. There is only a
small amount of nausea during the transition, and everyone
shakes it off quickly.

Passengers and crew quickly fall into the routine pattern for
shipboard life while in jump space.

OOC: You can study/practice a skill, do shipboard maintenance,
interact with the passengers or rest of the crew, and/or read
up on the next system or two along your route.

What is everyone doing during the week in jumpspace?

As a note, I"m 99.99 percent sure that Paris ordered a set of freeweights and other equipment, including a treadmill, relegated to a corner of the hold. I'm also sure she uses it when she has time. There isn't much time, but...

And just to be mean, I'm going to rule that Paris *intended*
to order a set of freeweights and other exercise equipment,
but somehow it slipped through the cracks and didn't get
done...or delivered anyway. It will give her something to buy
as soon as she gets to Overnale. In the meantime, Bart truly
*is* picking up heavy items in the cargo hold for his
exercise...lifting heavy trunks and cases or doing isometrics
by pushing and pulling unmovable crates dogged to the deck
should do the trick. :)

So, to summarize, Paris is running herself ragged and Bart is
practicing turret weaponry, working out (STR), learning the
ship's layout blind, and helping out with the passengers
(Steward)?

While the captain works on finances, and does forward looking planning on
their route. With Sharda and Lord Percy's help, if at all possible. This
to lift the load of caring for our main passenger.

He also stands a duty on the bridge or engineering section (wherever he's
needed to spell other members) and helps out in the galley.

Whenever he needs to shmooz with the passengers, he does so.

Sharda is more than happy to help out, splitting her time between
assisting with the planning and thoroughly studying the planetary
markets that will be along their path.

Merinn seems to take an interest in Sharda; she shares information and
answers her questions as best she can.

I don't think my post got to the list where I mentioned that
you can find information on Callia at
http://www.mypbem.com/akus/akusreset/GlistenSubsector/Callia(1836).htm

And the map at
http://www.mypbem.com/akus/akusreset/GlistenArea.htm has links
to other systems...not much info yet, but it's coming.

It did (if in doubt, you can check the archives) a couple times, but your
bellsouth account is giving that strange internal error again.

If I had to guess, I'd say that it's got a spamchecker choking on the URL
with parentheses, but that's just me. I tried re-sending it, just for fun,
so we'll see if you get it.

You (all of you) can also go to the off-the-record post in Celandra and
see how to re-mail yourself things:

http://forum.phoenyx.net/thread/celandra/main/00008543

You can ignore the "not converted yet" part, since the whole Phoenyx is
converted. Which means Real Soon Now the *old* new server will become the
dev machine, the *new* new server will become the live machine, and the
old server will get retired to firewall duty, and I can work on making
mailboxes official (and fully functional).

Whee.

Huh? Karen, what do you mean it leaves off the trailing
parenthesis? It works for me...of course, I haven't tried it

That's the key... it depends on what algorithm your mail reader uses to
determine where the URL ends and regular sentence punctuation begins.
Some assume that a trailing "." or ")" is always part of the sentence,
others are smart enough to say "Well, there's a '(' in there so the ')'
must be part of it". GMail or Pine or XNews or whatever I used
(multiplatform testing is such fun) when I clicked it went with the
former case.

Well, don't blame me for the link's name, guys. It's not *my*
wiki. I found that this one has lot of good writeups for all
things Traveller, so, I'm going to let you use it as your
"ship's library" program. Maybe I should make you roll for

Enclosing it in angle brackets is the traditional way of delimiting it
to avoid ambiguity like so:
.

Then you can put a period at the end of your sentence without confusing
things. (Other than possibly HTML-based displays of things, but you
can't have everything.)

So, Karen, Eris has an opening or two for a female player. Wanna take over
Mal'ya?

Mal'ya is in the Reavers Deep game, Traveller, that I run on
mypbem.com.

Heh. (Yes, Real Soon Now we'll put the role stuff online so you can
remember who the characters in THIS game are. I suppose I could put out
some non-ref tools for players to see the player list, though. I've
been waiting to discuss it with the stakeholders as far as privacy
decisions, though.)

Is this (akus+main@phoenyx.net) the new mail address for the akus list? It used to be just akus@phoenyx.net...

This is the list for Akus Reset - I think.

Yep. akus@ will still work. It's the same as akus+main@, which is the default.

(It doesn't have to be +main, but that's the default default for Phoenyx lists.)

Works for me Derek. Try going to just the traveller.wikia.com

Neither mean anything other than gloomy backwater planets to
Des. Des' former companions preferred planets with
richer....pickings...ur, surroundings. :)

It's early in the morning on their third day out.  Desdaemona sits
quietly in engineering listening to the humm and occasional clicking
of the ships power systems.  A data pad with ships schematics
sits on the workstation next to her as she looks carefully at the
planetary data of their next two stops.  Des rolls her eye's and
sighs at the data before flipping back to a readout on the ships
power systems.

She taps a few more spots on the ships schematic grabs her
stale coffee and heads forward towards the ships common's
and presumable where the Captain is.

Paris is already there--she's wearing fuzzy bunny slippers and a worn robe that's the same off-white as the bunny slippers; she's setting out laterats/early rats of coffee and donuts for crew. "Morning, Des," she says, her face unmade and looking a little wan--but happy--this seems to be the life that fits her. "Donuts up, coffee's fresh, help you with anything else?"

"Is nice uniform," Des says with a smile as she pours some hot
coffee into her cup of cold coffee, "needs ears to go with."

The dirty faced redhead grabs a doughnut, chocolate of course.

"Captain wants report on ship," Desdaemona says waving the
data pad, "I finish this morning looking at super-structures and
power grids."

"Is good ship, gots a couple problems but is good ship."

"Those are in my baggage," Paris comments.

Paris nodded.

"You feel it too, eh?" Paris said, taking a moment's break and sitting down opposite of the engineer. "the Akus has a good feel to her--there's soul here--I have good feelings about it."

She then nodded towards the crew quarters. "The Captain's not up yet--he needs as much beauty sleep as he can get, you know?" A smile. "He should be up shortly--I left the alarm on for him--he's supposed to eat Breakfast with his Lordship this morning."

Desdaemona looks about at the hull with a puzzled expression,
"That's?  That's low frequency harmonics from way power plant
mounts is connect to spine.  I can change if you like but most
peoples like super low hertz, makes feel good."

She nods a little and takes a sip of the luke warm coffee mix
she's created, "Other feeling is from spirit of welder trapped
between hull layers when ship was built."  Des deadpans.

Desdaemona shakes her head, "No amounts of sleep can fix that."
She smirks, "I wait, got's lots of sugars and caffines to keep awake."

"No, this was before we fired up the internal plant," Paris said, "I know the harmonic trick--but I had the feeling before we even went off the station's power."

"You've got that right, girl," Paris said, putting her feet up and relaxing a bit, "He'll be out in a while--he was all tossed across the bunk when i got up--you'd think that he were still dirtside and on a king-size bed--I ended up racked on the floor just for space."

In the cabin, Sasha wakes up to the strange sensation of his
ears burning. Looking around, he sees that Paris is already up
and out of the stateroom leaving behind a nest of blankets on
the floor beside the bed.
