Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

I think Ian summarized things well.

We all will. That's how a lot of Elyria came about. The GM should have final say.
Someone mentioned creating a web site; he could be a keeper of guidelines.

I want to see one or more biggies with some independants.

I've quibbled with Pasztor but if he can commit to several years as GM I can find
common ground.

A multi-player culture will have a history. And several others will have been
interacting for a long time. I think a rich backstory could be valuable. My inital
model worked well for virgin territory, but Pasztor's wonder rich campaign calls for
anchient rhelics and forgoten ancients.

No.

How about psi? That's magic quantified. The big question is not if we want
different ways to break physical laws but if there are any laws that should remain
unviolated.

You left out -- how should time be treated? Do you want the slow pace of the
Calendra games or something faster, less detailed, but more epic.

I would suggest that the IH game rules basically remain unchanged.

i would like to see a many different society game, with subdivision games
created if circumstances and number of players dictate.

I don't know.

I would suggest that we start with a sketch of a history, allow the
players to develop the history, and then perhaps the GM can start
something similar to the Cloak and Dagger storyline.

Though I think I would like to make my society the "big villian" :)

I think that this universe could be considered another island in the
Dreaming, which could be used as hyperspace by some species. THere could
be rumors of a mythical planet deep within the mists of hyperspace...

I think I will vote for no magic, but psionically active races should be
allowed.

I think that we should perhaps use 5 year turns.

But it does need to be modified a bit like the tech level, military level,
society size, Agriculture etc... for this space game. We can use
Startreks/Trade War 2002 (BBS game) planet class' or Master of Orions 2 way
of identifying different types of planets or mix of both.

I agree with this except i am not sure about the Cloak and Dagger part since
i am not familiar with it.

I okay with the Dreaming also considered Hyperspace with floating world in
it which might of accidently of intentionally at some time entered
hyperspace somehow. :)

Exactly why i suggest using a Stardate to measure turns. One Stardate can be
considered as a 5 or less years turn.

Okay, can say i started the whole discussion by asking if it is possible to
adapt the IH rules for a Space Base game. I got some replies, I replied them
and the next day, I have 30 to 40 messages about it. :) Gee, i am good at
starting up conversations here, hehe
I have seen people here replying which i haven't saw yet wrote anything
until now in this email list thing.
