2835-2836 Action - Lord Alderwulf proposes a Law of Education
As Lord Alderwulf sat studying reports from the neighbouring countries it
occurred to him that education wise Aunderli was lagging behind. Okay so the
average seven year old in Aunderli could run rings around the so called
rangers of other countries a fact he was proud of but could nature Lore
alone allow for the kind of advances needed in the future, sadly the answer
was no. Needing time to think he called a royal hunt, a pass time that
always sharpened his wits and gave clarity to those jumbled thoughts.
The next morning he called a meeting with his advisors and requested that
they come up with a way to encourage social literacy and learning. Their
advice was to declare a new law with the aim of making it compulsory for
children between say the ages of six and fourteen to attend school. Problems
that could arise include lack of teachers and a enough buildings to act as
school houses. The first was settled by asking the druids to conduct them
in return for a yearly donation and a much wanted extension to the Temple of
Shiris. The second by ordering a school house to be built in every town and
village.
The proposal was then presented to the population by Alderwulf himself,
asking them to accept this new law and help Aunderli`s children to reach
their full potential and thus carry Aunderli`s pride in the generations to
come..

2835-2836 Action - Aunderli improves its Mines
Chief miner John Gallert looked down from his hut at the miners coming out
of shaft one, and immediately felt annoyed that the mines were not running
at their full potential.
" Jack" he called over his shoulder to a man talking to one of the Forman
"Jack, I be going to the Capital for a week or two...need to chat with the
courts about getting permission for the new mines, I want you to keep a eye
on things while I'm gone" with that he turned shrugged his cloak out from
his legs revealing the leather jacket typical of the miners and walked
inside to gather up some essentials.
"Milord Kaalvan, I trust my reports are to your liking, but they ain't as
good as they could be"
"Hmmm....what, sorry I missed you there Gallert, what aren't , I mean what
are not as they could be?"
"Them there reports, if I could just be allowed to open up them new shafts
I want with the men to use them we could double our output in no time."
"It is tempting...Okay Gallert you know I can not give you permission
myself but I will speak to the court about it"
+1 The tendency towards modernising Aunderlis infrastructure will require
financing
+1 Skilled labour is available

2836-2840 Action: Researching composite bows
The constant aggressive tendancies of some neighbouring countries begins
making military advisors look at their forces more carefully, the immediate
question asked was if a heavily armoured knight charged one of Aunderlis
footman would he survive, the answer would be no, if he had better
armour...no, better hand weapons...no, better trained...more then likely
not, if he could shoot a arrow through the knights armour from a
distance...yes. Then the question came could our present bows do
that...sometimes yes, but mostly no. The officers then sent for the Chief
Fletcher and gave him the task of picking thirty of his best craftsmen and
come back with a bow that could punch a arrow through plate armour at a
distance greater then presently possible.
+1 Highly skilled craftsman
+/0 GMS decision
2837-2838 Action: Exploring Islands North of Icebay
Alderwulf studying a map with his generals became intrigues that none of
the counties around Ice Bay had ever tried to explore let alone colonies the
islands at the mouth of Icebay. Placing a finger upon the map he ordered a
small fleet of five ships to be made ready to explore the islands in three

almost meaningless unless those who are to use them are ill trained, he thus
suggested passing a law in effect making it compulsory to practice arms for
two hours every Sunday and to attend a training event at mid summer for two
weeks. This would not only improve their chance of staying alive in a
battle but would also improve their chances at the monthly Tourney.

Having discovered talented individuals due to the schools, a motion to
give such individuals prolonged education is brought forth, Alderwulf
listening to the proposal calls his advisors to order and gives them two
weeks in which to produce a viable plan to implement the proposal. As the
second week came to a close the advisors came with the following suggestion
:- That a centralised system should be used, i.e. a single university be
built within the Capital where all such students should be sent.
:- That a student wage be given to encourage not only the
gifted with rich parents but also those of less Grande heritage.
:- That although the initial teachers would be Druids, this
would slowly change as those students interested in a teaching career be
allowed positions within the education system.
Lord Alderwulf having heard the proposals thanked his advisors and arranged
a talk with the Shiris Druids, the payment for such help would require the
building of two monasteries one just outside the capital and another at the
new colony. To this Alderwulf agreed and so the plan was put into motion.

Aunderli.
With the improvement of the roadways and the increased production of the
mines within Aunderli a increase in traders was evidenced, as a result the
temporary market places sufficient in past years began to be strained, along
with the city streets. To lessen the pressure a extension area was planned
for each city to hold goods plus allow a large and permanent market area to
be built. Meeting with the prominent traders the advisors laid plans for
the proposed market places:- The traders would finance the warehouses and
stores while the state would finance the public areas and streets, in
exchange the traders would receive a four year decrease on trade taxes(not
enough to hurt Aunderlis economy but enough to provide a good incentive for
those involved).
+0 Traders cost made up by tax incentives

2840-2840 Action: Aunderli builds hospital
In line with Aunderlis growing social infrastructure it was seen only
natural for the country to build and run a place of healing where the
knowledge of Aunderli`s various healers be shared and enhanced thus with
Alderwulfs approval a sight was marked out for the planned Hospital, once
again it was asked of the Druids to help in the running of such a facility
in exchange for a annual donation to the coffers, and a "wage" given to
those healers not directly linked to Shiris, ground rules were set about
cleanliness and practises allowed within the Hospital walls and grounds. The
facility would be supported partially by the Druids "Free" help, partially
by the state, and partially by the patents themselves.

2841-2842 Action: Healing gardens
The Druids running the Aunderli hospital have in the past few years noticed
that patients recovered better when allowed to have contact with nature and
when "modern" medicine was combined with natural medicine, with this thought
in mind Brother Jacob travelled there his superior to request permission and
finances to create a large natural garden where patients could wander and
also where the required components for the medicines could be grow within
arms reach. This request was at first received with mixed feelings until a
Brother Farrell pointed out that the garden could extend from the Hospital
to the new monastery thus providing novices the opportunity to use the
gardens for learning Natures Lore's well as being useful to the Hospital.
After a meeting with the advisors land was provided for the gardens in
exchange for the continued presence of druids in patrols.

deemed necessary, the light cavalry, troops who relied more on speed and
manoeuvrability then heavy armour, armed with bow, target shield and spear
their aim would be to harass the enemy flanks and to serve as support for
hard pressed units. With this in mind the most skilled in archery were
taken and taught to care for and ride their mounts, it was also deemed
advantageous by General Ketter that the learn to be self sufficient as well
as good tacticians.
To this end each was taken and given a years apprenticeship with a veteran
knight. Plus a years apprenticeship with the wilderness patrols.

painting, stage etc) etc, etc. For these to be possible Aunderli sent out
for viable teachers offering life time employment, a house on the university
