Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] Is anyone still interested in themain:alien game?

i know i haven't bveen active with it for several months and i am sorry
about that...but i was wondering, maybe use a different system than the IH?
well, mainly no dices and numbers and negatives and pluses.

Like, we have our societies and we just write about them and what they are
doing per year...but having bunch of players, it can make things
interesting. of course, they will have rules and reality check type rules to
prevent some problems which may evolve, but is interesting.

I done something like this before and about to help start another at
Apolyton.net forums base on the Alpha Centauri game.

I will still be gming like make sure actions don't get overboard and input
random events...and have a year per week. Will like newspaper writing like.

what do you people think? do you get what i even talking about?

Well, even IH rules are more like guidelines than anything else. The GM
must always resort to good ol' common sense in the end.

Skipping dice is a bigger change that would certainly take the game a big
step towards interactive storytelling. If you discard the dice, there
suddenly is very much less uncertainty in the game. Any conflicting
actions must be resolved by GM decision alone - which is ok as long as the
players feel they can trust the GM. But it can be hard.

Aside from resolving the success of actions, the most important input from
the GM is to expand and evolve further the actions of the players. Act as
a kind of playback device or sounding board. This would become even more
important in a game with no dice.

Hmm... not being actually a player in the Alien game, I have really no
vote in the matter. Or even an absolute opinion about it. I'm just
pointing these things out.
