Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] What is happening?

Hi all!

Question - what is currently going on with Elyria?
Are we moving forward with this, or has it died?

[Cel] [Ely] What is happening?

Kenny (& all others),

We are moving forward. Real life crisis keep intervening. Once we
get started things will run much smoother. We have one or two new
players that I have to discuss actions w/. I still have to figure out
about updating the web pages. I would love a volunteer but if not will
eventually take the time to figure it out myself. I hear HTML is not
that hard just a very fussy language.

I think I currently owe results of actions or comments to:
Jumalla
Aloria
City of Nargash
Order of Mel
If there is anyone else please let me know.

I need actions or revisions from:
Aunderli
Silver Hand
Nazclan

My current thought is to publish all the actions together so that
everyone has a chance to read them, can comment or make some changes if
they like. Hopefully, we can accomplish everything in the next week or
two.
I know that I have said this before, but I do apologize for taking
so long to get this up and running. I never expected real life to
intervene so forcefully and I have been reluctant to let this project
go, so the start has gotten stretched out much further then originally
anticiated. We should be starting soon, I can only ask for a little
more patience.
One note, there was a dice roll for a crisis in the city of Manund
in the Eleven Cities in '40, I have revised this. The Duchess is being
forced to wed into the Asentir alliance, a marriage she opposes
vehemently since she has fought against them all her life but supposedly
the Duke of Myraen is the only suitable candidate for her. The Duchess
runs away after the marriage bans are made and returns several months
later, whereabouts unknown but she is now pregnant. Myraen in it's
anger w/ the help of the Asentir alliance lays seige to the Manund and
captures it. The Duchess escapes. The use of Asentir forces will force
it to weaken its hold on the countryside, and Keland Pass and the other
northern passes. In addition, in '41 the Fae along w/ the help of
Aloria and Taseleth use this as an excuse to launch a surprise attack on
Asentir and capture Asentir that year. In '42 w/ the start of the game,
a Council of the Dukes of the Eleven Cities will be called and a Regency
Council will be appointed for the lands of Asentir.

[Cel] [Ely] What is happening?

Dear Joe
If you are waiting on revisions then my mail didn`t arrive.
Re exploring and colonising Icebay islands, the target will shift from the
islands to the highland coastline southwest of the asaid islands, as
Aunderli does not wish to provoke hostilities with anyone.

gmx.de/net is a veeeerrrrrry slow server. I've got a logfile full of
"Deferred: Connection timed out with mx0.gmx.net" messages.
FYI. You might ask your postmaster if they're overloaded, or if
they've maybe got an overenthusiastic tarpit.

The Phoenyx'll try every ten to thirty minutes for four days to deliver
deferred mail, and a server there is eventually accepting it (or the
Phoenyx would be sending rejection messages to the listowner
and me, or you'd be autobounced from the list), but I can't
guarantee it's reaching your mailbox after that. And it could be
accepted at hour 23 of day 4. The current backlog can be seen at
http://www.phoenyx.net/mailq/, with current "problem hosts" on the
next screen in. (It's only a snapshot, though, and only shows stuff
that *hasn't* been delivered yet. So if you get something late, your
host probably won't be there anymore unless there's something
*else* for you that is even later.)

To M. Taylor,

The highlands I believe are disputed territories but I have no
problem w/ you attempting colonization there. I am most concerned w/
your other moves and putting them on a more realistic timetable.

Is there *anyone* who would volunteer to do the web? Pushing it on top
of Joel's workload would just delay the game even more, especially if
Joel is a HTML-novice.

If none else volunteers, I might take the burden. But notice that I have
only limited time on my hands, and have certainly no time to revise the
current website before new year.

Also, whoever becomes the new webmaster, I would recommend that the extent
of documentation would be drastically dimished as compared to the Elyria
site as it is. In effect, the action resolution pages would be missing:
just a main summary of all actions for a year would be put on web. Also,
updates to society page contents etc. would be *player's* responsibility.
The webmaster would put them on place, maybe tidy the updates a bit, but
would not be responsible for making the updates themselves.
