Eleven Cities 2844 Primary determinant - Fair - 0 for all actions. Action 1: Duchess of Manund gathers her forces and launches an attack to recapture Manund (and hold it against counterattacks). Primary Determinant: Military – Fair (+0) Difficulty: - Hard (–1) Weight: - Single Actor: - Duchess Manund Secrecy: - Initially, yes, but not when the action starts (-1) ** Suggestions: (1) See if the Fae will lend an action to help w/ magic. (2) Have Kragan’s Horde lend a hand in the fight. He could help whether or not he is asked. I would imagine he is tracking the actions of the mother of his child. ** Modifiers: + backing from Emberath (and others, e.g. Order of Mel and Fae) + she is a popular figure in Manund + last year result - Merelbar's increase in forces ** (what increase?) ** - Merelbar is in control of Manund ? from action 4 (discontent of populace, increase in mercenaries, but the mercenaries may be elsewhere (e.g. Keland Gap)) (subactions of phases of attack might be helpful here: (1) gather troops, (2) Secrecy: and planning, (3) attack, (4a) either retreat or (4b) holding Manund <- this last might be Difficult depending on how eagerly Merelbar wants Manund back Base size of forces would be (may be modified if you use the subactions): Duchess Manund: Household knights & followers, help from other dukes (Emberath) force Good, size Tiny (~300) Additional troops from Manund (peasants) force Poor, size Mediocre (maximum, may well be lower) - these are really helpful only if the initial strike is successful Duke Merelbar Regular troops and mercenaries force Good, size Very small or Small (~1000-3000, depends on action 4) The duchess really has to rely on surprise to succeed. Action 2: duke of Benemeth attempts to regain his status. He is somewhat irritated by duke Merelbar, and tries to get hold of some mercenaries of his own. Primary Determinant: Fair (+0) Difficulty: - Hard (-1) Weight: - Single Actor: - Duke Benemeth Secrecy: - No Modifiers: - retreat from Asentinir last year - Merelbar's success last year ** -1-1-1 (000+1) =-2 Benemeth is rejected by the mercenaries. ** Action 3: duke of Falmyth tries to get into the regency council of Asentinir. (if I remember the original rules of the Regency Council, to take someone’s place on the council you must be approved by the other members. Is the Duke going in as the voting member or just to talk. I can not imagine anyone trying to stop him. Falmyth has a seat as do all of the Dukes of the Eleven Cities.) Primary Determinant: Fair (+0) Difficulty: - Easy (+1) Weight: - Single Actor: - Duke Falmyth Secrecy: - No Modifiers: - retreat from Asentinir + he is still influential and might be considered a balancing force in the Council by other Dukes ** The Duke can sit with his representative. I am not sure if the use of this action unless a specific proposal is being made. Another way to do this is to suggest a specific action and use the Duke’s sitting in council as a modifier for success. ** Action 4: Duke Merelbar continues to try to get to the position of a Grand Duke. He continues to recruit mercenaries, and to pay to them he: (1) pumps Manund for all its worth (2) raises tolls on trade through Keland Gap Primary Determinant: Fair (+0) Difficulty: - Hard Weight: - Single Actor: - Duke Falmyth Secrecy: - No Modifiers: + control of Manund + success from last year -1+1+1(++0+)- +4 Merelbar’s prestige and his popularity with the mercenaries continues to grow. ** You might consider this a multi-year action. Also should (1) & (2) under Action 4 separate actions influencing Action 4 or are they subactions for Action 4. ** ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send mail to celandra-off@phoenyx.net.
