Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] A challenge (Both games)

Okay. We have been hearing a lot from Joel, and Keaton has written some
great stories, but this game is for the players as well. So here is my
challenge to the players from both games. Ever month I am going to send
a challenge to tell me more about a certain part of your society. You
can give story form, or just in text book form which ever you like. For
the Elyria game I have talked to Joel about this and he was fine with
it. I plan on doing this two. So let the challenge begin.

This month I challenge you to tell about the important people in you
society. (This can range from the King, to a powerful merchent, to some
humble priest, to you faviort comic relieaf. Go ahead be creative, come
up with a few. Tell uses about their past, what their famious for, and
why YOU like or dislike them, ect.)

[Ely] Web pages

Hi,

finally, I have spend a day to update the web pages:

  http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/

Actually, the update is still a work in progress, and I'm asking for
your help (especially those who have already volunteered?) in updating
the pages. What I have updated is:
 - the society index
     (http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/index.html)
 - the timeline
     (http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/timeline.html)
 - the society page template, which is now simpler and hopefully
   easier to browse and update
     (http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/xxx/index.html)

I have made a few societies to the new template format (namely Aeraphal,
Aeris, Aloria and Ardrian a'Olaron), but I'd appreciate if you people
would take a society (your own for example) and fill out the template, and
then send it to me so that I can put it on the web page.

A few guidelines:
 - you don't need to know HTML to update the page: just
    1. Download the templates (or for example the aloria pages)
by going to the web page and using the 'Save as' command from the
       File menu
        a. http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/xxx/index.html
        b. http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/xxx/history.html
        c. http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/xxx/determinants.html
        d. http://www.iki.fi/juuso/elyria/soc/xxx/detailed.html
    2. Add plain text (using your favourite text editor) to the
       appropriate places (see below)
Don't worry about correct HTML syntax, I can fix it, but
       please pay attention to spelling
    3. Send the updated pages to me (juuso@iki.fi).

 - to the index page you should put the following things
    * name of the society
    * society concept (a line or two about what the society is all about)
    * a more detailed description of the society (a 1-10 paragraphs)

 - to the history page you put a description of the history and recent
events of your society (feel free to keep this very short, or add
   huge amounts of detail)

 - The determinant page probably contains more details (e.g. size
determinants) than you have or can readily provide: just leave those
places empty, I can fill them out. If you have any questions about
them, feel free to ask (use the mailing list: that way everybody
gets the answer). Of course, the few ready society pages provide
some examples. See also the FudgeIH page for information about
   the determinants.

     http://www.iki.fi/juuso/ihfudge/

 - The details page is completely voluntary. Its main purpose is
to give ideas of what you *could* put there. You can well leave it
empty. Or fill it gradually, over the course of the game.

 - If you want something special on your page, I'm sure it can be
arranged. However, I'd like to keep the essential contents
and look-and-feel of the index page the same for every society.

And I'll add the stories to the society's web page. (Promise. Definetly.
For real. It's easy now that the initial work has been done, so I can
do it in no time. Honestly I promise to do it.)
