Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

+1% for major disaster or blessing
Players can change the results of the rolls.  Please consult w/ the GM
before doing so.


Aunderli (100)
The stars and portents fall favorably upon Aunderli.  There are rumors
of a Great Druid being born.  The gardens of the hospital produce herbs
in great abundance and new discoveries are made.  +1 to the healing
arts.


Order of Helix (01)
The head researcher in Taseleth for the assassins gets tainted by a
Nightmare.  –1 to all research. (if the Nightmare is discovered this
could lead too fast to the QoN so this might not be the best idea.)
In the alternative, the remainder of colony on New Hope is infested by
Nightmares.


Church of Ezrai (05)
The Church is no longer recognized by Duke Merelbar as the official
church of his lands.


Kross Barony (04)
The Baroness takes ill again.  –1 to all the society’s actions.


Sealords (96)
The Sealords succeed in striking back at Nazclan taking some revenge for
their recent losses.

Action 1: Duchess Manund stays in Manund preparing for the eventual recapture attempt. The 
city is prepared for a long siege, the populace is trained in the use of arms, and emissaries are sent to all other dukes, the Fae, and Hur'Mel for support: be it military, economical or political. She sends her son 
to the court of Duke Helemur for safe-keeping. 

Base: Power in Manund (+1)
Modifiers: 
- poor financial situation in Manund
+ loyal populace

Action 2: The Church of Ezrai has included the "Voice of the Goddess" as part of their religion. 
The Goddess' words are repeated as part of the sermons. The Church tries to reclaim some
of its lost impetus (and support) by using this mystical experience as the springboard.

Base: Religious Tolerance (+1)
Modifiers: 
+ poor status of the Calarrian Church

Action 3: The Calarrian Church holds a conference in Benemeth to discuss the meaning
of the Voice of the Goddess. Participants have come from all over the known world, including druids from Aunderli, rykosi from Aloria, priests of the lake from Ardrian, velok mystics, scholar knights
of Mel, and wizards from various Orders.  

Base: Religious Tolerance (+1)
Modifiers: 
- huge undertaking
- no knowledge of events on Qaiyore

Action 4: Duke Merelbar tries to recapture Manund. He takes the task very personally, and will equip a large force to do it (mercenaries: Force +1, Size: Mediocre). An important objective is to capture the Duchess as well.

Base: resolved as a military conflict
Merelbar forces: force +1, size -1
Manund forces: force 0, size -2, +1 defence, +/-(additional forces due to action 1)

[Cel] joining the game

I have been watching the list for a only couple of days, but I have read
over the web pages and am interested in joining one of the games.  From what
I have seen I would guess that Elyria is the more active game and as such I
would probably join it (if possible) rather than Qaiyore.   I dont have a
firm idea on exactly what kind of Society I would like to control.  Also as
the web page states that the game is closed and I would have to pick an
existing NPC society, my options are limitied.

It appears that the webpage has not been updated in a while (4th August
1999), so I am not sure if I would be able to join at all.  Either way let
me know, but if I can join I would find it very useful to have uptodate
information on which societies I could take control of, also as the links to
maps are broken on the webpage a good map would be useful to gain a better
idea of the geography of the place.

[Cel] joining the game

Alan,

    Both games, Elyria & Qaiyoure are active and open.  Elyria has not
had its web pages updated for some time.  As the GM for the past year
that has been my fault.  I am not familiar w/ doing web pages and my
time has been limited by other aspects of real life.

    I will be away for the next 2 weeks until 7/30, but Jason at
jtsl@attglobal.net is the GM of Qaiyoure and can very likely answer any
questions you have and give some suggestions about what societies are
open.  The preference is to fill up the current map as much as possible,
but we do accept new societies on occasion.  You are also free to play
in both games if you wish.

    I look forward to seeing which society or societies you have chosen
in Elyria/Qaiyoure when I return.  Good luck and enjoy the game.

Sorry, got a little carried away there. Forget that action, and 
make the Calarrian church action a double.

+1 for double action (see above) -> +2

The conference succeeds superbly. Mostly thanks to Fae mages, and 
tyrean priests, the conference reaches (and spreads) a relatively good
understanding of the event (on a very general level - events on 
Qaiyore, or the fact that the event took place on Qaiyore, or even
the existece of Qaiyore still remain hidden). This is a big boost
for the status of the Calarrian Church.

Reviewing my folders I appear to missing moves/results from the
following societies.  If moves/results have been sent please send me a
copy so I might update my records.  I find it hard to believe that so
many were unresolved, but something may have slipped through the cracks
or been misfiled in the rush to go on vacation.
If you have not submitted please do so.  Lets finish up and move onto
2846.
