Hello everyone! I'm SO interesting in getting involved with this game.. but the GM's all seem to be asleep and the games all full.. yet 90% of the leaderships seem to be NPC and so many players haven't even totaly fleshed out their empires. Sheesh if I was playing this I'd have a map detailing every single house plan in my little territory! Since both of these games seem full or "sleeping" does anyone know of any similar games that are still alive and accepting players? Thanks! -Jarren ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send mail to celandra-off@phoenyx.net.

The thing to realise is that a turn of the game takes about 3 weeks so things can be fairly slow, this gives players time to write actions (or whatever) at their leisure and the GM plenty of time to resolve actions. Its a pity that this game is SOOOOOOO Slow. I would have hoot more fun with this if it hade more pace. I joined this game like two years ago and we only went through 12 to 14 turns since then :P a few took 2-3 months then 2-3 weeks.......... If it went faster, i would think people would have more interest. Sure everybody has a life, but if they can't play for months time, then they shouldn't be playing! annoying for the Rest to wait for the last few players to post their turns and yes i am not innocent in that area................ Such a wonderful world, hate to see it stop and die.... There is TheMain :) is similar and space base....and I am interested in playing GM for it... which is my fault for making a strong impact on its creation in the first place. But not enough players interested in playing that game :/ -LMP > > > Hello everyone! > > > > I'm SO interesting in getting involved with this game.. but the GM's all >seem to be asleep and the games all full.. yet 90% of the leaderships seem >to be NPC and so many players haven't even totaly fleshed out their >empires. >Sheesh if I was playing this I'd have a map detailing every single house >plan in my little territory! Players have come and gone, to my knowledge either due to lack of GM's or real life concerns of their own. I am as frustrated as some of my players aabout the speed of this game. I imagine some of it is attributable to the combination of my life scheduling problems and my trying to give everyone plenty of time for revisions. Eliminating some of the revision time and taking more decisions upon myself may help speed things up. For discussion purposes any comments anyone has upon how best to GM this game should be made now. I ain't perfect, now is the time to tell me how to fix the game if we are to continue. From my perspective, I spend too much time chasing after many of you to make corrections to moves that I have suggested. The main complaint that I have heard from many has been time between moves. I am willing to try a somewhat speeded up version. Jason & I have tried to keep turns running together but that may not be possible. We can try a 2 week timetable. And this time it will be very rigid. I have tried to give everyone plenty of time to revise their moves and it appears to have created too many delays. My suggestion to speed up the game in addition to a 2 week timetable, I will make more of the revisions of moves upon myself. If anyone has strong differences of opinions, you will have 2 days to comment, otherwise my rolls and comments will stand. Those of you who are serious players will respond in a timely fashion, those who are not as serious will live w/ the results they get. Anyone wanting an extension to the deadline for results or response can ask for it. In addition, many of you are not filling providing all of the data. Such as secondary or primary determinants, etc. I would like to encourage this, since most of you do not seem to want the benefit (the carrot), suggestions for a stick are welcome. Either the action can be ignored or the roll will automatically receive a -1 penalty for piece of data not filled in. To implement this I suggest, we design a new form that can be submitted to the GM. If a 2 week timetable proves unworkable then we can try shorter or longer. I do not imagine a shorter one would work. Part of the game is supposed to be about writing stories for your society and that aspect would risk getting lost in a shorter timetable. All comments are welcome. The players list subject to change will be based on who has submitted for the past 2 yrs. of game turns & email from the players. Some players did not submit last year and I will email them to double-check their their status. I will also ask a consensus of the players about speeding up the game. I believe some like the current pace, while others want to move faster. 1) All players, please confirm that you are active and interested in continuing. I know some of you have responded previously, my apologies for asking again. If you do not respond w/in a few days, I will assume you are no longer active. I know there have been a lot of starts and stops, but if we get up and moving quickly perhaps we can keep going for a while. 2) Also, please let me know if you wish to move to a 2 week schedule or not. 3) I need someone to update the web pages. I neither have the time nor the knowledge. Any volunteers are welcome. 4) Player list. Please confirm. All other societies are open. 2 open societies that are not on the current web pages are Kragan's Horde, a small band of northern mercenaries that have settled in the Eleven Cities area. Confederacy - a small northern island chain of refugees. For those who do not know, the web pages are under my care, but I don't have the time to do the updates. Or, more to the point, to waddle through the 20-odd societies, and update them to their current status and situation. To handle the situation, volunteers would be needed to do some fleshing out the societies (1+ hours per society, depending on how detailed work you do) and then emaling me the results. I can edit them to proper HTML and put on correct place. Of course, if anyone would want to take the job entirely, you'd be most welcome. juuso ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send mail to celandra-off@phoenyx.net.

While we're on the subject, how far is Ely still behind Qai? I'm fairly certain that Q is ready to start the next year. (I could be totally wrong, of course. I'm more of a 'continuity editor' than a GM most of the time.) M. And yes, I know that I am several WEEKS behind with the next chapter. I believe that Elyria is only one year behind Qaiyoure. Joel --- Archangelwrote: > While we're on the subject, how far is Ely still > behind Qai? Yes I have been on vaction for most of the past month, and have just started college. I will be ending the year sunday. Also some of Q players have not sent in actions in a couple of turn. If you want to countiune to play I need at the very lest a note. More perferable actions. Jason Archangel wrote: > While we're on the subject, how far is Ely still behind Qai? Well, you tsunamied the Razanian Coast without me agreeing to it... what else can i do then recover, recover, recover and without anyone actively playing Aryisa. Yes, i heard all of the arguments and don't want to start it up again...but i want the razanians to have atleast SOME international influence, not stuck in a low populated third world Coast that recently got Armageddoned without any agreement from the effected players.... So what else can i do SERIOUSLY? I rather keep the razanians, but will skip turns until i get my WAY with the Coast :P -LMP ...like airships from sout... > >Yes I have been on vaction for most of the past month, and have just >started >college. Neither of the games are full. It just we would like players to take an NPC society and play it.
