Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] [Elyria] Intro and Call for Players

Greetings All,

I have been involved with gaming for about 25 years. Most of my experience
lies with table top wargames and rpgs with quite a bit of experience as a
GM. I started with D&D, ran the gauntlet of games from Aftermath, Chivalry
& Sorcery, Space Opera, Traveller and TMNT. I have settled on Harn and
Harnmaster from Columbia Games (http://www.columbiagames.com) and a sample
of Harn stuff can be found at (http://www.warflail.com/harnlink/). I began
my interest in Word building around the time I found Elyria and I was
taking a roman history and celtic history courses. I have the Aria books
and FUDGE stuff.

I also do a significant amount of writing, concentrating on fantasy and
science fiction genres. Right now (this fall) I am going back to school
full time to get a B.S. in Biology and Natural Science with a minor in
Environmental Studies. After High School I joined the Marine Corps and
spent 10 years as a ground radio tech. The Gulf War was a culmination of
sorts and I got out to go to school. I promptly found out that I didn't
know what I wanted concentrate on and ended up stydying everything. I
spent some years in community college and the university of washington
changing my major every year. At least I got a tattoo out of the
experiences ;)

As far as the game goes I think that Juuso did an excellent job as GM and I
will try to keep the same standard. I do have a humancentric bent
(although I thought that Fae Refugees and the Dreaming were excellent as
were the Satrimah) and don't like super fancy or powerful magic, but I will
work with everyone. I still have a few things to do before I can run the
first turn. I expect that I can start this weekend. So...consider this a
call for players. I will want to try and limit the game to about 5 or 6
players until I get the hang of things and the semester shakes out some.
First come first served.

Well, I'd like to play some society or another. I used to play Eleven
cities, and would gladly continue it.

Well..well...well...the truth comes out...Juuso just wants to play... ;)

That would be great! So far you are the first player! Is that good or bad?
I think that I will "open" the game on the pheonyx side. I think that we
need to sort out the political situation in the Eleven Cities before we
assign them to one player.
