Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] Welcome!

Glenn:
Welcome to Celandra. It's quite an unusual game you've joined in; you're taking on the role of an entire culture (whether that be a nation, a religion, a band of heroes(?) or whatever), and not just a single individual, and together we try to create the stories of these groups within the world of Celandra.
Juuso's our great Arbiter; he keeps us from going wild without at least justifying it. I try to run the Ka'Shari, a race of nomadic ocean-going traders that wander the entire globe. There's also the Kaeir, a nation that has thrown off its pirate overlords and is now attempting to conquer a new kingdom (as opposed to simply plundering its wealth). There is East Torphan (aka Burcancy, for reasons I haven't learned yet), hopefully near the end of a civil war - and about to be invaded by very angry elves. As for newer players, there's me, the Exquaesito (a bunch of religious nuts down in the Free Cities, going door to door and preaching), and perhaps one other group whose details I don't know yet.
There are also two semi-NPC groups: Mir and the Eerith. Mir is a powerful magical nation that apparently is deeply embroiled in Machiavellian politics, and the Eerith are a race of beings with a few fatal flaws and a completely different kind of power and outlook from that of mere physical beings.
Anyway, tell us more about what you're looking for. We'd be glad to suggest kingdoms that might fit your needs, or ways in which you can get involved in what's going on in the MidSea region. I *believe* Juuso prefers any new race to have a significant attachment to that region; it certainly makes it easier for us all to interact!

    Bob

(And if anybody has a suggestion for how to deal with the Mirrish overreaction to MY overreaction to their treatment of a visiting sovereign, I'd love to hear it!)
