Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] Natural Magics

What is the status of Natural Magics like alchemy, geomancy (feng shui), and
astrology in Qaiyore? That is, those magics that rely on natural sources of
magic and not the caster's talent. (Authority magic that doesn't require
bargaining?)

That sort of thing would be Material Essence magic. I think Juuso said
in a post in the discussion on astronomy that most Celandran societies
don't pay much attention to the sky, and that astrology isn't
developed. I don't think anyone's mentioned geomancy yet, and as far as
alchemy goes, I think several societies use it, including Cedonia, but
it's not always regarded as magic, and its development is uneven. For
instance, Cedonia, Taltheran, Kaeir, and Tanimbar are all quite
sophisticated in metallurgy, but there are large areas of knowledge,
particularily in regards to explosives and organic synthesis, that are
and will likely remain mysterious--in part, due to the fact that most
Qaiyorean alchemists have little concept of "lab safety". Stirring
chemicals with your fingers and then eating lunch without washing your
hands is not a recipe for long life.
