Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] [Update] Exquaestio Update

I've updated all the Exquaestio pages (available from the phoenyx site or
directly at http://www.picotech.net/~jeff_wilson63/rpg/Exq_Main.html).

Please go through them and let me know what you think.

[Cel] [Update] Exquaestio Update

The information seems well-presented, but for one thing: the background
image.

The combination of small black text on a grey-and-white patterned
background is very hard, for me at least, to read without strain. I find
that I have to squint slightly in order to read the text. I vaguely
remember reading in my mom's copy of _Web Pages That Suck_ that putting
text over patterned backgrounds is rarely a good idea. Still, if you
want to keep the patterned background, using a larger font would be a
big, big improvement.

As far as content goes, no complaints, but I did find one broken link,
to /~jeff_wilson63/fiction/Pantheon.html.

Unfortunately that isn't the problem. Having gone around on this several
times the problem is the contrast. By the time I get to a contrast which
is acceptable to the people who have problems with the existing
background it's one which gives me headaches (and I already have my
computer set to very low contrast). Frankly, the existing background
already a bit too light for me. I'm always willing to accept suggestions
for (low contrast) font colors and backgrounds though.

There aren't any font controls on these pages, so you're looking at your
default font size.

Oops. That's now fixed.

Ah, well, in that case, never mind. I have my monitor's contrast and
brightness set at 90% of maximum, so we're perceiving the same thing in
rather different ways. I still think, however, that the text would be
much easier to read over a background that's either solid grey or solid
white. To my eyes, the current background/text combination just won't
stay focused, it "jitters". And so, I squint.

OK, I've changed the Exquaestio pages (but not the associated story
pages) to a solid grey background. Last time I tried this I got
complaints that it was too dark -- even harder to read than the pattern,
but let me know what you think.

Well, for me, it's *much* easier to read now. Thanks.
