Here's some more stuff about the gods for your consideration. Names in
square brackets are ones that I haven't made up yet.

The Children of Kaskasoevin:
Kaskasoevin is a Trickster God. One myth tells of how he set out to
seduce all the Elder and Younger Goddesses. He succeeded with all but
Miracradsa, who saw through his deceptions, and turned the tables on him
by tricking him into having sex with a series of nanny-goats. The six
goddesses seduced by Kaskasoevin produced twelve daughters who became
the Celandran equivalent of the Muses, while the nanny-goats produced
the twelve semi-divine Great Satyrs, who became Kaskasoevin’s agents &
emissaries. The race of satyrs, which, while common in the Dreaming, is
rarely if ever seen on Celandra, is descended from the unions of the
Great Satyrs and the Muses.
The Twelve Muses and their mothers are:
* [Music] & [Poetry], the daughters of the Lady of the Winds
* [Art] & [Architecture], the daughters of the Lady of Stone
* [Science] & [History], the daughters of Lucia
* [Cookery] & [Winemaking], the daughters of Arrumantha
* [Athletics] & [Dance], the daughters of Arlova
* [Drama] & [Erotica], the daughters of Demerhaze

lol. I can so see both of them acting that way. I like it. If you would like help with the names I could would be willing to help. I can already see the conversation between the two after this event. It's not so much a lack of inspiration as it is a lack of time. The way I see it, there's a whole cycle of Cascasoevin myths floating around the MidSea, all following more or less the same pattern: 1. Cascasoevin is bored/drunk/horny/any or all of the above. 2. Cascasoevin decides to stir up some excitement. 3. Cascasoevin tricks one or more gods/people/demons/critters to get what he wants. 4. Cascasoevin gets full of himself, and overreaches. 5. One of the other gods, usually Coron or Miracradsa (who are both smarter than Cascasoevin thinks he is), but not always, turns the tables in a humorous fashion on Cascasoevin, hoisting him on his own petard. 6. Cascasoevin is repentant and vows to reform . . . until the next time. Andrew Jason Heaps wrote: > lol. I can so see both of them acting that way. I like it. They're all female because the Greek Muses were all female, and that was the model I was working off of. And no, I'm not willing to change it at this point. To address all of Jeff's comments below: the reason I put the names in square brackets was to indicate the areas these muses cover. They are not in any way intended to be exact translations of the names of the Muses. I chose [Science] as a descriptor because it's a more compact word than [Natural Philosophy], which I admit is probably a better description. Art is high art: sculpture other than architectural, painting, tapestry, art pottery, wood carving, etc. Architecture is what it sounds like. I chose Winemaking rather than brewing because Sedonians drink wine rather than beer; in Selaria, the Muse in question is the patron of fermented mare's milk makers. In countries where beer is popular, she's [Brewing] instead. Music and Poetry would be cross-cultural, and not general deities of sound and speech. Music is a lot more than just sound, and Poetry is more than just speech.
