hi folks, I might be absent from the game for a few weeks. I decided this weekend to return to Australia for a number of personal reasons, and am returning on Thursday. Not sure if I will have immediate access to the net, plus i'll be getting my head together so i may not have time immediately. I'm not quitting, but predicting a slight absence....... : ) A pity, as the Taltherani stuff is quite interesting, and there are a lot of things i want to write up about it. Plus, a story development involving the Green Lady and the Brotherhood of the Night that I definitely do want to pursue. I've submitted my 1458 orders, but probably won't have time to respond or do any write ups. cheers to you all and be talking to you all in a few weeks, Ibrahim ---------- If I can't get my 1459 turn in time, here's what I expect I would have done: 1459 outline: 1. Integration/Subjugation of Saltrim Depending on the outcome of 1458, then the Kaeirean expeditionary force to Saltrim City either has to subjugate the resisting forces (perhaps with the help of Saltrimi houses that joined the Kaeirean forces), or if the matter was settled peacefully, has begun the process of integrating Saltrim into the Republic. Duration: 1 of ? Weight: Normal/Hard Key Elements: Kaeirean expeditionary force, intelligence arm of the Office of the Inquisitor, Osric Basiluddin (his personality and status alone is significant), Saltrimi Conclave, Guilds. 2. Integration/Subjugation of Corryn Depending on the outcome of 1458, then the Millati expeditionary force to Corryn either has to subjugate the resisting forces, or if the matter was settled peacefully, has begun the process of establishing the joint Holy Tower of the South/Mirrish Church of the Creator protectorate over Corryn. However, should the 1458 attempt have gone badly, and Millati officials killed, then the situation may have become far worse (if say, the new Keeper of the Tower of Corryn was murdered, then Millati in Kaeir and the Shanari Commonwealth might be tempted to become more involved). Duration: 1 of ? Weight: Normal/Hard Key Elements: Millati expeditionary force, Nightbrothers' mission, Corryn nobles and merchants, Millati Corrynese. 3. Aid to the Panchayyah Popo, i forget what we agreed upon regarding Kaeirean aid to the Panchayyah for 1459. I'll leave this to you (but remember, no Kaeirean military involvement this year : ) ). 4. Sedonian-Kaeirean agreement on Rimrivertown trade access Kaeir will agree to the Sedonian request, with the consent of the Panchayyah Grand Chief Dheskerallai of course, granting 8 2-year passes (as per the initial Sedonian request). Sedonia may appoint a Trade Commissioner in lieu of a diplomatic representative in Rimrivertown. Assumably he would not be part of the intelligence service ; ) Popo, any comments? Kaeirean conditions are: - a permanent naval mission in Tolmersa, sufficient for the repair and resupplying of Kaeirean ships, with the diplomatic status of a Kaeirean consulate. The naval mission would be small, staffed only by a commandin officer, clerks, a Ministry of Commerce official, a company of Colonial Guard, and handful of engineers from the Kaeirean Fleet Arsenal in Kahshaartown. Its main duties would be the monitoring of Kaeirean commerce travelling through the Straits, the passing on of information between Kaeirean merchants, the detention of persons who have committed crimes aboard a sea-going Kaeirean vessel until they can be transferred back to Port Kaeir. The mission would also be autonomous within its own territory, though residents of the mission who commit crimes outside of the mission would be of course, answerable to Sedonian law. - 10 scholarships to the University of Thalsedon, and 10 military scholarships to the (not sure of the name here) Legion Officer's college. These scholarships would be renewed individually as individual scholars completed their studies and returned home. - Sedonian sanction for the preaching of the Millat in eastern Sedonia (Tirmar/Old Timar). __________________________________ Meet your soulmate! How big is a Colonial Guard company? As far as temporary detention of criminals goes, the Sedonians *would* be willing to make cell space available in the Prison for temporary detainees. > - 10 scholarships to the University of Thalsedon, and > 10 military > scholarships to the (not sure of the name here) Legion > Officer's > college. The University scholarships would be tuition-only; students (or Kaeir) would have to pay room & board, and materials costs. The Imperial Military Academy scholarships would cover tuition and room & board, but students are required to pay for their own dress uniforms (poor students get theirs in "one-size-fits-nobody" from the Academy Quartermaster and make any needed alterations themselves; rich students get theirs professionally tailored). > - Sedonian sanction for the preaching of the Millat in > eastern Sedonia > (Tirmar/Old Timar). This will be granted quietly & without fuss. Andrew > > > __________________________________ > Meet your soulmate! > Yahoo! Probably though, it would rarely be at a full 25, as individual Colonial Guardsmen might be drafted into the Fleet Marines whenever a Convoy lacking marine numbers passed by. Kaeir would prefer a district/area in Tolmersa set aside for or allocated to the Kaeirean mission. That way the more important Sedonian and Kaeirean affairs are kept separate when needed. A large number of detainees are not expected, but one role of the naval mission that is envisaged is the holding of the odd figure detained for various reasons under Kaeirean sea-law. In such cases, it would probably be politically unacceptable back in the streets of Port Kaeir for such figures to be held under Sedonian arms (no offence though at the offer). Perhaps an understanding can be reached that if a situation arose where jail space in the Kaeirean naval mission could not hold the detainees, space could be made temporarily in the Sedonian Prison (though such a large figure would be largely unimaginable). > > >>- 10 scholarships to the University of Thalsedon, and >>10 military >>scholarships to the (not sure of the name here) Legion >>Officer's >>college. (wink wink nudge nudge) If the points above regarding Kaeirean Naval Mission at Tolmersa is acceptable, then Kaeir would have no objection to the overall agreement.
