Where are we in terms of starting the next year's turn? Just to get things going, here are a couple of purely internal Sedonian events for 1460: 1/20/1460: Crown Princess Agatha is delivered of her second child, a girl, who is named Yzara after her paternal grandmother. 3/14/1460: Princess Irinia, Grand Duchess of Tirmar, gives birth to fraternal twins, named Tomas Niotrosa and Anna Rentra, the second names honoring their Mirrish grandparents. 6/6/1460: Prince Barnardus, Grand Duke of Vizinia, marries the daughter of the Duke of Tiraren. Midyear's Day: Empress Yzara proclaims that her children and their descendants shall bear the surname of Samavraal which translates as "Half-Vra'aal". ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send mail to celandra-off@phoenyx.net.
Well, I've got the details for Kaeir in 1460 worked out already.....which includes one major action involving the Green Lady and the Brotherhood of the Night. In terms of events, only one. Lord Osric Basiluddin is dead, having succumbed to a combination of age, exhaustion and illness while serving in Saltrim. His funeral is to be held very shortly (just after the start of the year). Meanwhile, the Inquisitor keeps receiving reports from the native shamans of dreams telling of a terrible evil living in Port Kaeir. Two questions Andrew. Is the names of Barnardus, Arden, Irinia now Thalsedon-Caladyn-Samavraal or is it just Samavraal? Also so would that make Irinia and Lorenica children surnames Celamyrsa-Thalsedon-Caladyn-Samavraal or Celamyrsa-Samavraal? (I am guessing that Lorenica is still just Celamyrsa and Irinia is Thalsedon-Caladyn-Samavraal, and that it is the children themselves that go by combined names) Second question: Inheritance I am guessing that their will be more children, but do we want to worry about figuring out now which children will inherite which Grand Duchy or just wait on that? Wait on it, although my inclination would be to give the Mirrish title to the boy and the Sedonian title to the girl, since I know that Sedonian law wouldn't bar her from inheriting, but I'm not sure about Mir. Mirrish law for noble inheritance was laid down over three thousand years ago. It stated a woman could inheriate but only if there were no more males of the same family name. While Mirrish law of common inheritance was laid down during the the Empire which allowed woman to inheriate. The Nobles law has not been changed since nobles played such little importance on the Mirrish stage until the last century and even then most of it has been in Yora'Timar, and the monarchy. So their have been some moves to recreate the law of noble inheritance. Oh on a side note. Since the Geneology of the Noble families of Midsea is getting so complex I have begun to put it into a Geneology program I have, and when I get it done I should be able to send everyone of a pdf copy. Andrew if do you mind if I make up specific birth/marriage/death dates or do you have some specificlly in mind? Also what are likely places for these events to take place for the Sedonia families? A good idea, Jason. Regarding Kaeiraen nobility, given that the Kaeirean class structure is slightly fluid (social ladder climbing being acceptable - proof of the ability of a House to improve its lot), there is less of a need to draw up an extensive geneaology of Kaeirean nobility (it'd also be considerable work on my part....). Though as I've mentioned in the past, a number of families to have more significant geneaologies, as some of the Tirmaeiri houses are of Old Timar origin (their ancestors having belonged to the Old Timar court, or are descended from various branches of the Princes of Old Timar). The Van Adin, who are descended from the line of Old Mayors (as opposed to New Mayors, who oversaw the fall of Kaeir to Taltheran), hold the most esteemed ancestry in Kaeir. There are no houses that are descended from the Old Prince of Kaeir, on a side note. Well, none that publicise the fact anyway. Ibrahim Jason Heaps wrote: >Oh on a side note.
