Here's a general question.

What is the current status of Videssia, population and
society/government wise?

Much has been said of the devastation it underwent in previous times,
but now?

It is still divided between the Warlords, the Empire of Videss and the Republic of Celoa. currently this year the Aranda river has flooded, flooding several districts in both cities, and some riots have broken out in the area. As to the Warlords responce to these events well we will see :)

Hang on, I know that already. Was a bit confused there I guess.

So Videssia was the one that had the terrible experiments in psionics or
something similiar, as well?

I don't remember *that*, but maybe.

Videssia seems to be well on its way to becoming the armpit of the
MidSea--like Gary, Indiana, but without the air pollution.

Well, two decades ago in gametime, the late Osric Basiluddin ordered the
then Information Secretariat to research "mental sciences", though the
project was later abandoned under advice from the Eerith, who gave
Videssia as an example of why it should be abandoned.

I think I may have answered my own question.....

So the ancient Videssians who had succumbed to temptation were
imprisoned somehow by their countrymen who had resisted it.... Though
they in turn collapsed and disappeared due to civil war, leaving no
trace of where the "possessed" ancients lay imprisoned?

Ibrahim

    The Legions of Spirit

Prelude

An Onagir Story

Long and long ago, when the gods of the farm-men were different, a
different tribe of farm-men lived by the shore of the middle sea. These
men were builders and stacked great piles of stone for their rulers and
gods to live. Their obeah set great stones in patterns that they might
control the song.

In their ignorance of the song, the farm-men obeah sought within the
dreaming. They desired to stand outside the song that they might control
it better. (Of course, to stand outside the song is to lose the song,
but these farm-men obeah truly were that ignorant.) Within the Dreaming
they sought, and so they found a tribe they thought would serve. These
others had no bodies of their own, living only in the bodies of men.
Such men gained great gifts, but lost reason and memory, for such was
the food of these others. Some men fed the others on minds not their
own, but all such eventually lost themselves to others. In time the
builder-men woke their danger, but by that time the others had bred
themselves to many hundreds.

The war between these others and the builder-men lasted many-many
seasons. Many of their stone piles were torn down. Many of their stone
patterns were scattered. Families were torn apart and met in battle.

In the end, the builder-men defeated the others. When the last of the
others gathered, the builder-men struck against them and the others were
prisoned until the builder-men recovered enough to slay them. Then,
though, the builder-men turned against each other. Like a mammoth
wounded to certain death but yet living, the battles between the others
and the builder-men had slain the builder-men tribe. A few survivors
fled into Onagir hands. Among us these survivors told their tale.

The descendants of those who fled the builder-men live among us today.
The rest of the builder-men died and trees grew to cover their stones.

Hadnt thought of that..... so potentially therefore there are ancient
shadowspawn imprisonsed somewhere in Videssia? A fabulous notion, sure
to warm the heart of any who understand its danger.

[Cel] Mirrish Actions 1460

It was my random luck for my last action to prep for my southern expedition. I am searching for dragons/eggs. the map was found amoung dragon records. It seems to idicate locations of dragon breeding grounds or something in the far south. The map is lacking a key hence the action.

---++ Action resolution

---+++ Actions 1 & 2: Protectorate of Corryn

*Resolution:* Diff = Hard (-1) + Dice (+-+0) + Extras (double: +1) = +1
Success

*Dice:* fp=2

    * Identify problems: +
    * New priests: -
    * Cooperation: +
    * Luck: 0

*Results:* Swift action on the part of the archmage gains favour
from the people. Although it is hard to find properly diplomatic
priests, the personal involvement of the archmage brings results.

---+++ Action 3: Tanimbar

*Resolution:* Diff = Normal (0) + Dice (0+-+) + Extras () = +1 Success

*Dice:*

    * Using dragon: 0
    * Military action: +
    * Reaction internal: -
    * Luck: +

*Results:* The dragon is great boost on troop morality, although it
is of less use than thought against the essentially underground
tunnels of the goblins. Still, extra vigilance brings a boon: a secret
way (used to smuggle in supplies) to one of the main strongholds is
discovered, and that stronghold is taken easily after that.

---+++ Action 4: The long await expedition

*Resolution:* Diff = Normal (0) + Dice (+---) + Extras () = -2 Failure

*Dice:*

    * Gather supplies: +
    * Collect fleet: -
    * Interpreting map: -
    * Luck: -

*Results:* It is very hard to find captains to brave the icy waters
on the open ocean outside MidSea. The Ka'Shari are known to have
travelled there, but they are gone.
