[Cel] Sedonian Religious Books

The primary Sedonian religious text, /Yan Torletor/ (The Holy Words),
was compiled around the year 15, part of the religious reforms of
Emperor Bucerad I that created the modern Sedonian Church. It is a
collection, in one volume, of several separate texts used by the various
religions that combined to form the Sedonian Church, which is the main
reason for the work's infamously uneven literary style.

/Yan Torletor/ consists of three Immutable Books and four Mutable Books.
The text of the Immutable Books has not changed they were compiled in
15. The Mutable Books, on the other hand, have been added to over the
years; the Book of Oracles, in particular, is usually bound separately
due to the relative frequency of additions.

    * The Book of Creation (Immutable): The Sedonian version of the
creation myth. Bears a strong resemblence in sections to the Kelshiri
myth of Dwi Kulukan, and to the Shanari legend of the lost Garden of Shanar.

    * The Book of Legends (Immutable): Also called the Book of Heroes,
this is a collection of stories about either the Gods, or about
ancestral Sedonian heroes, not unlike Bulfinch's _Mythology_. However,
while nearly every tale in this book has some sort of moral, a few are
downright Zen in nature.

    * The Book of Precepts (Mutable): A collection of laws, adages, and
advice. The Precepts vary from the pithy to the verbose, from the
profound to the trite. It consists of eleven chapters:
       * Coron: Rituals for births, deaths, and marriage. Rules for
dealing with the bodies of the dead. How to deal with spirits.
       * Lucia: Justice. Living ethically. Keeping an open mind.
       * Demerhaze: Honor and revenge. Punishment. Binding and banishing
demons.
       * Marmdal: Advice to rulers. Law of the sea.
       * Sedon: Ethics in business. Obligations of hospitality to
travellers and strangers.
       * Arrumantha: Advice on farming. Diet. Food hygiene. The
treatment of animals.
       * Arlova: Health and Hygiene. (In Sedonia, sanitation is a
religious imperative).
       * Torronir: Relations between master and servant. Days of rest.
       * Mithrac: How to be a good soldier. How to win wars and
influence nations.
       * Miracradsa: Obligations of family members to each other. How to
deal with magic.
       * Cascasoevin: Sexual mores. Advice on relationships. Living life
to the fullest.

    * The Book of Questions (Immutable): A collection of hypothetical
ethical and moral dilemmas. Answers are not included.

    * The Book of Songs (Mutable): A compilation of the religious songs
and poetry of the Orders of the Church.

    * The Book of Prayer (Mutable): A compilation of prayers for all
occasions.

    * The Book of Oracles: A collection of oracular pronouncements,
including every pronouncement of the Oracle of Talishara, as well as the
reports of Sedonian Dreamspeakers, specially trained priests who contact
the Gods through dreams.
