Subject: a few words from a new guy

Although some what new to FUDGE iv been at this
gaming stuff for a while. And I have to say in
the beginning no new player is every really
impressed with the system to the point that they
buy a game for it. Its the setting of the game
that usually draws the player in. When i first
got my cyberpunk book i didnt crack it open and
say "look how simple this system is". No I was
taken by the game world, the art, and the ideas
the game world inspired.

My point is if FUDGE is to ever become main
stream so to speak its got to have games with
mass apeal. That old cyberpunk book (1st ed) was
not fancy, it was 3 little mini book in a box
with just a bit of art. But the world drew me
into it. As a matter of fact there are some good
game worlds out there with terrible systems, I
mean truly terrible. But still have big fan
followings.

No new player ever reads the rules first.

just my 2 cents
