Subject: D20 evolving to Fudge?

Sorta...

I was perusing http://bluerose.greenronin.com/ and it
seems to me that a lot of the changes are changes that
take the basic D20SRD material in a direction much
more like Fudge.

-less class-based determinism (albeit still
class-based)
-ability scores reduction to just modifiers (-4 to 4)
-more skill/feat based
-more narrative combat design (although full rules
unseen)
-extremely Fudgey damage track (see fastplay rules)
    -no hit points

Now, I don't think this is going to "change the world"
or "revolutionize roleplaying" or whatever. I just
find it interesting. I also got the impression from
some of the designer's notes that they might be
targetting a new audience for the game.

Another thing to remember is that M&M is a completely separate evolutionary development line from d20.

Most of this is material that the company deveoped first for their Mutants & Masterminds game (particularly the damge track rules).

They did similar things with Mutants & Masterminds.

Actually, for BlueRose, they are a damage track.
