Subject: Attribute+skill

I know that in basic fudge attributes and skills
are not ment to be combined, BUT! has any one
found a really good way of doing it any way.

the rolling method from my last post was use for
just such a game.....way it worked was you used
base attribute....but added the adjustment from
the skill to the 4D6 roll.....clunky but
effective.

Example:
Attribute:Perception: Good
Skill:AIM: Good

player would roll on the chart adding his +1 for
good aim skill....the out come would effect the
attribute up or down a level or same depending on
the roll.

This is what I'm using for the Star Wars quick adventure I'm running during the upcoming hiatus in the AD&D2 group's game.

A method of achieving the same with less in-game clunkiness is that you tie each skill to an attribute.

In that case, it's probably easier to not have attributes, and instead have gifts and flaws that cover the same territory.

If you take the gift "Strong", you get a +1 to rolls that involve strength.
If you take the flaw "Weak", you get a -1 to

I don't know if this is really good way to combine them, but I've been experimenting with tying attributes to skills, limiting the bonus for any skill to be a maximum +1.
