I'm in the course of dumping the entire Fudge list into a nicely indexed
SQL database, which will eventually replace the Mhonarc archives (which is
why, I have to admit, I haven't put a lot of effort into figuring out why
it hasn't updated... it's Unix, so it's a permissions problem).
Anyway, it's fun being able to run statistics easily on this stuff. It's
imported through 2002 right now, with over 23,000 messages so far.
Currently, the biggest subject was "FUDGE: 4DF.1 vs. 4DF.2" with 345
entries... when it's not busy indexing, I'll have to ask it what the
longest thread proper is. Through that point, it's recognized almost 600
unique email addresses and names.
The new archives will be rather more impressive than the old ones. Perl
coders, HTML designers, and anybody with experience storyboarding a UI are
welcome to help, too...
