I'm working on a Superworld campaign, and I was wondering if anyone had ever found any rules mods, ideas, new powers, etc on the net? I did a Google on it, but its not working well because the term "superworld" is just WAY too common, and is used for a childrens' reading program or some such. *sighs* Anyway, since its an ancient rulesset, and WAY out of print, there isn't much for it. I'd like to get my hands on the old Dragon articles, but I'm not sure they're any different than what was printed in the Companion, so I wouldn't want to buy without being able to check that out. So if anyone can throw any good links my way, I'd be interested. I'm sure I'll be doing some of my own shifts and changes to it as time goes along during the campaign anyway. I love the system, but I know it has its quirks. And since I haven't played it in 10 or so years, and haven't run the system before, its going to be interesting. Thanks! D. [And yes, I'm intending to run the system and use the rules for dice! *laughs*] ====================================================== "Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw!" -- Lilo & Stitch Deb Atwood / d-singer@hall-of-mirrors.com homepage & blog: http://www.hall-of-mirrors.com A Twisted Weave: http://www.hall-of-mirrors.com/atw AIM/YIM/MIM: tryslora ICQ: 26379740 ---------------------------------------------------------------- GAMERS Home Page: http://www.phoenyx.net/gamers/

I did one with a bit more restrictions on it to filter the kid's stuff and
found *nothing* except a few places selling copies (I have the Companion on
order now), reviews and mentions of Superworld's place in RPG history.

I have the Dragon archive, I search it and let you know what I find. [Long
pause to install and run a search, the interface on this *sucks*.] OK,
I've found a few things, the most potentially useful is Steve Perrin's "The
SUPERWORLD Game, Expanded!", which is most likely all in the
Companion. Details available upon private request.

That it should. Will make a decision about joining very soon. I have an
idea for a character (background-wise but not power-wise yet).

Everyone has their guilty little secrets. You just broadcast yours to an
archived mailing list. . . .

That's what I seemed to be running into. Which was entertaining from the point of view of looking at just how *many* of the Superhero roleplaying games I own, from back when I was obsessively trying to collect them all when I was in college. >I have the Dragon archive, I search it and let you know what I find. Anyway, I'm constructing the history and stuff online, so if anyone is interested in what we're talking about, that would be http://www.hall-of-mirrors.com/mask. > >[And yes, I'm intending to run the system and use the rules for > >dice! *laughs*] > >Everyone has their guilty little secrets. Nah, me using dice isn't a guilty little secret, but I thought it would be great entertainment for the list. *grins* I'm sure if we all think long and hard we can come up with something to call a guilty little secret for me, and probably even find one or two I *don't* blog or post about. *laughs* Maybe. The biggest thing is that Superworld never got the support it really
deserved and it's pretty easy to convert to/from Hero as well, so you can,
if you put some work into, leech from all the Hero/Champions sites as well.

It's 1984, so probably. Details privately of course.

Hey Deb, I'm running a search on "Superworld superhero roleplaying game" using Sherlock, and I'm coming up with mostly just "rpg encyclopedia" entries and a couple of sites with the Companion and a couple of other ?modules for sale. I'll post if I find anything useful. Is this a pbem campaign you're running? If so, I'd love to get in on it. I haven't played in a supers game since the early 90s... a few years after I was in that huge multi-party d&d pbem you were doing for a while. Whoa...check this out: http://www.chaosium.com./chaosium/coming- soon.shtml and scroll all the way down to the end. It links to http://www.chaosium.com./brp/index.shtml ...according to www.wikipedia.com, Superworld uses this system. --Ananda anandastevens@attbi.com p.s. You wouldn't happen to have any archive files of the spellpoint system we did somewhen in the late 80s and early 90s, would you? :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------- GAMERS Home Page: http://www.phoenyx.net/gamers/
Hi all, yes Chaosium is re-releasing its "Basic Role Playing" the original generic game system before GURPS. Here is a link to the Worlds of Wonder page (Super World included) Which gives 3 settings for use with BRP. http://basicrps.narod.ru/index-wow.html Hope this helps! --- anandastevens@attbi.com wrote: > Hey Deb, > > I'm running a search on "Superworld superhero > roleplaying game" using > Sherlock, and I'm coming up with mostly just "rpg > encyclopedia" entries > and a couple of sites with the Companion and a > couple of other ?modules > for sale.
