The first Phoenyx Gathering was held at and around the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, as some of you will recall. KCRF runs from Labor Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend. We're probably going to go one of these weekends soon, so if anybody wants to have a mini-Gathering, holler. But not anytime soon. In Kansas' best feast-or-famine tradition, we've ended the drought with a flood, and KCRF is closed today, and maybe tomorrow. Next weekend is out (family visiting) and the weekend after is out (I'm teaching a class). Hmm. The weekend after that is out, too (Carl's got a drum thingy). The next weekend might or might not be a followup to that class, so it's a possibility (the 27th). The 4th is okay other than I will be up late the night before. The 11th is that class again, and the 18th (which might be too late anyway; I can't remember when Columbus Day is) is the day before my sister's wedding, so I'll undoubtedly be doing last-minute something-or-other. So that'd make it Sept 27 or Oct 4. Anybody else interested? -- Karen J. For the first time in its history it was completely canceled for a day.

Well, it looks like it's the 27th, since Carl's band just booked an appearance on the 4th. Heh. -- Karen J. "Carl's band." Heh. You are so funny. "Band" implies that I have some
reasonable skill with an instrument.
We're hosting a community drum circle at Ten Thousand Villages' "World
Music Day". We just get together, bang on drums, and encourage others to
do so.
