Stikfas

Okay, the website should be taken out and summarily shot, but the products
look kind of neato:

http://www.stikfas.com/

Huh. Warehouse 23 has them. Well, has the dragon and rider and,
apparently, nothing else. Where's the fun in *that*?

I am torn between the dragon/female and the skater (oh the possibilities). They look cool. Need find. Thanks

Syncronicity, I just ordered two sets Friday afternoon.

Tell me about it. That's one of the worst designed web sites I've ever
encountered.

The interesting thing is that a non-gaming friend of mine pointed me at
these about a month ago but I couldn't find any place that had them.
While their web site does have a link to all the places that supposedly
carry them, except for Warehouse 23 and Amazon, I couldn't actually find
them at any of the other retailers.

I orded the dragon/female combo from Warehouse 23 and the knight/horse
combo from Amazon. I couldn't find the skater available anywhere. When
I have time, I'll try a GameStop in person and see what I can find.

And Amazon thinks these are for ages 8-14. Heh. I need the dragon.

The dragon is just *way* cool.

BTW, the friend that originally pointed me at them uses them to work out
poses for artwork, since their articulation is supposed to precisely
match that of humans (and horses for the horse, dragons are anyones
guess).

Stikfas -- Where to Get -- Greater Boston

For gamers in the Greater Boston Area, it turns out that Newbury Comics
has gotten into Stikfas big-time. I was just in the Natick store and
they had pretty much everything, including the female warrior with dragon
and male warrior on horse. Since I had those two on order already, I
picked up the Samuri Warrior and "Delta Boy Extreme" (i.e. skateboarder).

On the other hand, GameStop was a waste of time for them, there was no
sign of them in the store and the clerk had only ever seen them at NC
(right next door) and had no idea that GS supposedly carried them.

Since they're imported by Hasbro, I checked Toys R Us' website, and
they've got some... no dragon, but the knight. That tends not to
necessarily reflect what's actually in the stores, so I might need to
check there, and/or my FLG&CS.

ThinkGeek doesn't have them (yet). I'm shocked.

If you strike out in those places, drop me a line. I'm sure "something
can be arranged".

As it is, I'm going to take my new toys to AlbaCon this weekend and show
them off for some fellow list members (Hi, Deb!).

So am I. Bad ThinkGeek. No bisguit.

The Toys R Us had a firefighter and a samurai, neither of which are the
ones listed on their website (black and tan basic, alpha male, and
knight).

So I'm putting together the samurai. Woo hoo.

Stikfas

Heh, finally a chance to share this site:
http://www.ningyoushi.com/index.cfm

They have Stikfas, but my favorite are the kubricks:

Aliens
http://www.ningyoushi.com/medicom/kubrick/movies/alien1set.htm

and

Reservoir Dogs
http://www.ningyoushi.com/medicom/kubrick/movies/reservoirdogsa.htm

among others...

(I've never ordered from them, just checked their site
occasionally to warp my perspective)

I have something I've used for much the same purpose, whose name escapes
me... oh yeah, Zoob. (I found it by Googling for "Lady Sherbert" [sic].
Typos stick in my mind better than product names, apparently.) I do have
a drawing manikin, but it doesn't have digitigrade legs.

Of course, it's not so much the articulation as the proportions that are
the problem. But Stikfas can't be worse than everything-the-same-length
Zoobs in that regard.
