Roleplaying for Munchkins: The result

In the end I followed Carl Cravens' advice and ran a 'generic
fairytale setting' game, still using Fudge as the system. The game
ran for just over an hour when I wrapped things up because dinner was
ready :) The munchkins (aged 8, 10, and 40) were still ready for
more!

I used pregenerated characters for a Princess, a Wizard and a Knight
and largely winged it plot wise. I had an outline in my head, but
nothing written down, about rescuing Prince Jugears from bandits that
turned out to working for the hostile neighbouring kingdom of
Vulgaria.

I found the children grasped the basic mechanics of Fudge very easily
indeed.

Cool. Kids generally seem to grasp roleplaying more readily than most
adults. I'm glad things went well.

A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.
