I don't like coming into an established game and taking over the leader role right off the bat, but at the beginning of a game I'll tend toward that role. If I can, I'll make a character that fills a hole in the group dynamic. Roll/Role: I try to focus on role-playing, but easily fall out of character when trying to solve in-game problems. My main thing is that the characters are heroes. They may be "dark" heroes, but the hero part takes precedence over the dark part. I was playing around with ideas for my old Alpha Station campaign, and came across Fudge while mining various free rpg systems out there for ideas. I played the solo adventure in the back... then I ran the solo adventure as a GM for my buddies. I discovered that I was good at running games but I've never -ever- had the chance to play a game, as no one I know has ever been knowledgeable enough about RPGs to want to be a GM. > 2.
