Worldcon Denver

That's within driving distance of Phoenyx World Headquarters... about
eight hours to get to Denver, and only another two or three to get through
the traffic to get to wherever the con is.

Worldcon 2007 sounds like fun, too, but Yokohama is not within driving
distance.

Yep, sounds like we're going to be at that one. Though we'll probably fly.

No, it's not. We're going to pass on that one.

And hey, if you fly into DIA, we can pick you up. That's about halfway
there from Kansas...

Then we could let one of you guys drive from there, too... Denver traffic
is like a little bit of the East Coast, which I hadn't ever realized. I
mean, I knew they had a smog problem, ergo lots of cars, but I somehow was
thinking the cars would be more spread out, not packed onto approximately
the same number of highway miles as Wichita has. It was very exciting,
and I even got to test the ABS. Works fine, made the Mini behind me
swerve out on the shoulder, though I'm not sure if that was because he was
too close to me or because he didn't trust the brakes of the pickup behind
*him*.

(As Mike and other readers of my LJ already know, we went to Denver on a
family vacation a couple of weeks ago:

The hotel we stayed in is a fur piece from the convention center, but that
might be a good thing. It was a nice place, even if people there have
guns they may not know how to use (yet):

You can't blame them... after all, you might need them, given the size of
the bears:
