It features psionics, arcane technology, strange alien races, mystery and intrigue. Influences include Gene Wolfe & Jack Vance, but don't let that put you off!

Kalyr - 35.6 : The Final Battle

The flat of Ryzar's blade hits it's target; Jal falls back, stunned.
Meanwhile, Reylorna makes one last desperate effort to overcome the
creature's mental defenses.  But she fails, and collapses with
exhaustion with the effort.  The mental concert collapses with her.

Jorg's senses pick up something immediately behind him; he whirls
round to see Kylar, sword raised above his head, preparing to slice
him in two.  He barely manages to duck out of the way of the
descending blade, but loses his footing and goes sprawling on the
ground.

After knocking Jal out of the fight, Ryzar trips over something else,
but this time it's not dead.  A ugly mouth opens in the middle of a
mass of grey-brown hair, filled with far too many sharp needle-like
teeth.

Ryzar's mind feels like it's being crushed in a vice.

unable to do anything.

Kalyr - 35.6 : The Final Battle

He catches Reylorna and lowers her gently to the ground. Then he
springs up and brandishes his cudgel before Verthes and Duplar.
     
"Come on! Keep your shields up, and watch out for our controlled
friends!"
     
Dharak bolts for the scene of the melee, eager to bust his stick
across  someone other than one of his new comrades
     
"Dammit, Ryzar, where is this thing?" he yells as he runs.

Staggering away from the blow, Jal nearly falls and then catches himself,
gazing vaguely around himself. His earlier preoccupation and determination
seem to have gone. However, he seems unable to immediately grasp what's
going on.

[Duplar]

As the mental net collapses Duplar drops his concentration on that and
draws his wand.

He now heads directly for where he knows the target to be, wanting  visible
line of sight without other members of the party in the way.

OOC:
    In Ryzar's last post, Ryzar was -- at least, he was trying to! -- slash
madly at The Beast, all the while screaming (note, I said 'screaming'), "Die
Beast, Die!!"
(This should NOT be confused with Ryzar just standing there, yelling in
German, "The Beast, The Beast!" ^_^)
    I have yet to recieve any word as to whether Ryzar is actually
accomplishing anything.  Ryzar appears to be in what my Pilot friends call
"A Holding Pattern".....
