Fortunately the target doesn't move; the youth who was so cocky just a few moments ago is now rigid with fear. The audience are loving it. "Closer! Closer!", cries a human voice. "Get him in the bollocks!", shouts another voice. Rotemdol notices one human member of the audience paying him particular attention. He doesn't seem joining in with the applause of the crowd at all. Meanwhile a human couple, a middle-aged man and a slightly younger woman, sit at the end of the table next to Zul. They talk in hushed tones, but Zul makes out the words 'Karazthan' and 'fire'. -- Tim Hall, http://www.kalyr.com "It's a fine line between stupid and clever" - Spinal Tap

I >>have all the props here". >"Remind me exactly how you want me to do it?", he asks, "Don't forget >what happened last time". [ooc: Banjo is Rotemdol knife instructor and he is good. The Jamjee routine is a sort of like a Kata. It is a very advanced knife Kata and requires the capability of throwing and fast drawing in the off hand. We set two target on stage. Each a human like with a shield. Banjo is walking around, Rotemdol comes between the targets and throws a knife at Banjo(The knife is turning and will hit hilt first if it hits banjo but should hit behind him point first). Banjo should roll under the knife and draw two knives and throw them at the targets (hopefully penetrating the shields). As he comes up Rotemdol attacks him with a nirvork looking very dangerous (for which he has the nirvork art skill). Banjo paries with a main gauche movement and goes for the neck. It is a very short (10 seconds) but very fast Kata and looks very impressive. The danger is mainly to the attacker and should not be much. Rotemdol is in leather armor which usually negates the danger in this Kata] Rotemdol replies "well, this time you are on the defending side so the most that can happen to you is that you fall on your ass. Try to be gentle in the last movement as I want to be able to finish the show, you know I have the apples to deal with" Assuming Banjo agrees Rotemdol walks to the stage and says " I have the rare pleasure of inviting to my show the Great Banjo, the second to none knife fighter who has learned under Thorn Ort himself. Banjo will perform the extremely dangerous Jamjee routine. Now watch very carefully because we are going to do it only twice, that is if both of us are alive after the first time." Rotemdol acts very nervous (he is not really) as he set up the stage. If all goes well Banjo will also show the pentrating power of the knives when he throws them, showing what happen to the shields, Rotemdol complaining how expensive it is to buy new props everytime, and then step down.

Most of my reputation, I think, came from the fact that me and my friends can be convincing. So far I have made my money showing off in public with knifes and not in more private ways. However I do know a few people who will be happy to accept commissions and I can easily arrange a meeting. I guess it all depends on who the individual you want dealt with is. "well, like I said, I don't kill people unless they have done something to me. However, I know people who may be willing to accept some commissions. If you will wait here I will go downstairs to check and someone should be shortly up" Rotemdol arranges for Golnyr a convenient place to sit and shows him his prized book of knifes. "While you wait you may look at the book, it has the artistic rendition of all the knifes I collected. You can find many of them in the box next to you. I am especially proud of the Brag, double bladed, sacrificial knife. Those are almost gone you know". Rotemdol than goes down to discuss with Banjo and Kayman if they or someone they know will be interested in the commission. If one of them is Rotemdol will send him up to his room to discuss terms.
Golnyr sounds slightly disappointed that Rotemdol isn't prepared to undertake his commission personally. >Rotemdol than goes down to discuss with Banjo and Kayman if they or someone >they know will >be interested in the commission. If one of them is Rotemdol will send him >up to >his room to discuss terms. "Him?", Banjo replies incredulously, "Not bloody likely! His father owns half the anthill. Not that he's not a nasty piece of work that probably deserves to die, he's killed quite a few personally in his time. [Rotemdol] Rotemdol goes back to his room to talk to Golnyr. " I talked to my friends and they say his father is bad madicine. They say anyone touching him with a ten foot pole will have to flee the city and never come back. But you know, A thought occured to me. Klarrash seems to be drinking a lot and is not bound to be reasnoble. If he happens to insult a kandar who would than go to the temple of Kardak the Defender, which is near by, and tell them that he has been insulted by a human, they might send a few knights to check on that human and than, who knows what will happen." Rotemdol stops for a moment and then says " It could happen in the same way even if he did not insult any kandar...". After a few seconds for the idea to sink Rotemdol says " nice talking to you, however I heard there may be some good entertainment comming, I would not want to miss it. so I have to hurry downstairs. Sorry we could not do buisness this time, all the luck". Rotemdol than joins his friends and looks to see what will happen, especially if Golnyr goes outside. If Rotemdol table location is such that he will be in the center of the action he will change to a better location.
"That's probably what I expected to hear", Golnyr says, "But I think the getting him insulted suggestion has potential; the Knights of Kardak are stupid enough to take him on". >If Rotemdol table location is such that he will be in the center of the >action he will change to a better location. [Rotemdol] > "That's probably what I expected to hear", Golnyr says, "But I think > the getting him insulted suggestion has potential; the Knights of > Kardak are stupid enough to take him on". Rotemdol expect the evening to be interesting and maybe entertaining. He takes part of his knife collection (not the expensive ones) and put about 20 of them on his table. Rotemdol will take a target and put it in a place such that a knife throwing game will get him located in a good place, if necessary moving the table (Rotemdol assumes that a brawl is coming, and assume he knows the approximate location. He plans to stay out of it, but wants to have good view, and will prepare accordingly.). He will play against Banjo and invite some friends to join. The game will be just for fun, no betting. [ The game will be set in such a way that it will be unlikely for Klarrash to join] Rotemdol is humming to himself most of this time.

It takes Rotemdol a while to set the target and wooden board up, during which time he starts to gather a crowd of a couple of dozen onlookers. Meanwhile Geela tries an overambitious dance step and gets a leg entangled with Gerryn's, causing the pair of them to topple over right onto a Klarrash and Soyara, spilling Klarrash's drink, most of which goes over Gerryn. The man's companions, who themselves had been drenched in beer a moment or two earlier, burst out laughing. "You will pay for this!", Klarrash roars at Geela and Gerryn, slapping Geela across the face. He's clearly very drunk; his own female companion edges away. [Zul] While Klarrash is looking at Gerryn, Zul darts between Klarrash and Soyara and starts backing her client away, facing toward the drunken slumlord's son as she goes. She keeps her mouth shut, hoping Klarrash won't notice, until she has hustled Soyara out the nearest exit. She keeps the beer in her right hand. As she scans the scene, looking for any of Klarrash's thugs who might intervene, she notes Gerryn's busty dance partner pressing her hands to her face. *I'll be back for you, hon.
