Anytime you see a message like this:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/contrib/bin/procmail -f- || exit 75 #phoen2"
(expanded from: )
it means our remote webhosting service is doing something stupid.
All listmail that's destined for the web archives goes to user
"phoen2@domainnameservers.net", where procmail feeds it to
Mhonarc. Usually by the time I try to figure out what it is they're
doing with procmail, they've fixed it. In this case, since that's a
dead site walking, I'm not going to worry about it... just ignore
errors for that user.
I'm attempting to get Mhonarc set up on the local site (since our
service with them ends the 31st), so if you see the same sort of
thing for user silver@wirebird.com, that's what's going on.
None of it affects actual list delivery, although due to the nature of
sendmail, sometimes you'll see more than one user bounce in the
same message... if it actually tells you another user has had a
fatal error, then that *does* mean they didn't get their mail. But
you're more likely to see "deferred" messages, which aren't
permanent errors.
