For those of you who are now thinking I'm running some kind of twisted game
involving "symbols of hate", it was actually just a fluke. I tried a Yahoo
search using that with the quotes, and did not get anything related to
SylvrStorm. Turns out that when you do the search without the quotes, it
picks up one of the SylvrStorm archive pages where the subject line of a
player's post included the word "symbols" (he was investigating some
mystical symbols he'd seen). There was nothing about "hate" in it at all.
I have no idea why this comes in at 4th place out of 8544 hits. Go figure.

Incidentally, does anyone know how to get a site listed with Yahoo? Not
that it's really important, since my site (in Geocities) is really just for
the players and lurkers in my game; but I've tried a few times to get sites
listed with Yahoo and never succeeded. I've always filled out all their
forms and been careful to select the correct place for it and follow all
their instructions, but I've never gotten a site listed or received any
indication why not. Like I said, not really important, but a bit of a pet
peeve.

I managed to get my Kalyr site listed with them when I first put the
page up two years ago. Maybe they've got pickier since then. The
haven't listed my train page :(

I thought of that too, but the site for the Phoenyx hosted game that I'm a
player in (Master of the Desert Nomads) is listed in Yahoo, and it's also a
Geocities site. Maybe they got stricter during the interval between the two
games' start dates. Whatever.

Like I said, search engines are stoned. But that's okay... the
latest amusing reference is "nasty women of star trek." Heh.
