celandra status report (fwd)

Hi,

could anyone tell me what the following means in my status report
(there are more of these, from several days now):

 1 unsubscription request from (automatic)
user '' unsubscribed on Wed, 1 Sep 1999 00:10:29 CDT
user '' was not found on subtopic 'digest' on Wed, 1 Sep 1999 00:10:29 CDT
user 'j.prevost@cs.cmu.edu' left subtopic 'distrib' on Wed, 1 Sep 1999 00:10:29 CDT

Specifically, who did the unsubscription request, who was unsubscribed,
and what is the 'distrib' subtopic? I didn't know my list had one.

What I'm really concerned about is that people who 'leave subtopic 'distrib''
(either by purpose, or by accident) don't appear on the 'who celandra'
listing. And now they include several of my players! Do they receive any
mail? I feel panic approaching...

I'm reasonably certain I've got this fixed. There may still be some in
the status reports, so let me know if you see them and I'll make sure
they're just leftovers.

celandra status report

Hi,

what does this mean in my status report:

 3 autoremoval of jtsl@attglobal.net
 ('SMTP; 550 ... Not a local address'
 reported by lists.wirebird.com)

Ok, I understand that the person has been kicked out from
the list automatically, but for what reason? Direct email
to the address above works fine.

The help page on status messages
 http://www.phoenyx.net/help/mod_status.html
does not list level 3 messages.

This means direct mail wasn't working at the time the Phoenyx tried
delivery. 500-series SMTP messages are "permanent," so he got kicked off.
If he resubscribes and gets the same thing, he needs to talk to his ISP...
it probably means they have an overenthusiastic spamfilter.
