Okay, this (see the attachment below) is probably something for the group at large to consider. My take on this would be that that particular group includes a number of fairly self-centered people - despite having their noses rubbed in the fact that neither the Phoenyx nor the gamemaster are doing this for anything resembling profit, they persist in whining about how the plot doesn't move the way they want it to, or the list doesn't function the way they want it to. So I'd cut 'em loose. I as much as said so to "Elim" (who responded to my suggestion that someone use the tech support address if they're having problems, rather than just mention to the list that they're having unspecified problems, with "Do you realize that some people are just too sick of you to do that?"), suggesting that if he's sick of me, he can stop hanging around in my house, as it were. But perhaps I'm excessively harsh, and mayhap some of the people who've followed this thread (Jason posted a bit of it here, so I know he's following it) can offer something more constructive. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sun, 05 Sep 1999 21:57:32 -0400 From: Ardeth HecatTo: Karen J. Karen, quite truthfully I am baffled as to how to handle them. It is only the Erdani list that is having these ongoing problems with players. I don't know whether as a group they are just egging each other on. But I disapprove very much of the tone that they are taking, both with yourself and the Phoenyx, as well as with me. I've have a couple of rather nasty, personal attacks from them. I've never had a group of players like that in all the time I've been involved in PBeM. A couple of times I've been ready to throw my hands up and close down the Seventh Order. But, its been a good, long running game and the Kobrys and Ravek (barring a few problems just when the lists moved) are great groups and the players are really good to work with. So, I am hesitant to kill it for the sake of a few problem players. Have you ever seen this sort of thing before? Any words of wisdom?
