A good chunk of the city was without power for about an hour this morning;
I'm not sure what happened, but there were three of KGE's biggest
cherry-pickers out stringing cable hither and yon about a mile from our
house.

The outage was reduced for us because the UPS hung on for about forty
minutes, and then extended for us slightly on account of the UPS didn't
come back when wall power did.  It's sitting there blinking all its lights
in a confused sort of fashion, so I drove home and plugged firebird
directly into wall power.  The cherry-pickers are all gone, so hopefully
we won't get zapped while we're living dangerously, and hopefully the UPS
will recharge itself and we can plug back into it later tonight.
