
Wellllll... I think things went okay with today's upgrade. Hit a major snag when I couldn't get the new disk *or* the old disk to boot. Don't know what I did to confuse the boot record, but reinstalling that fixed the problem. After that problem was fixed, I upgraded the operating system from Debian 2.0 (hamm) to 2.1 (slink). So now we're running on a new, faster disk *and* Debian 2.1. This got us a lot of much-needed upgrades to various packages... this also means that nearly every critical system that we didn't write has been upgraded and may potentially cause problems.
