Work on the chat area (our MOO, or MUD as it's commonly known) is moving
along quite well. What I want to know is if any of you are inclined to
use it. It's rather different than email, but once we get things set up,
there ought to be a lot of useful roleplaying features.
To help facilitate the use of the MOO, I'm playing around with a web-based
(Java) client. If you're at all interested in live chat for your games
(whether running them there or just chatting with your players) and are
concerned about the annoyances of using telnet or installing new software,
try out Cup-O MUD...
http://www.phoenyx.net/chat/com/
It'll automatically connect you to the Phoenyx MOO, and instructions about
how to log on are printed out when you're connected. There's nothing to
using the client... you type in the box at the bottom and the MOO output
is in the window at the top. If you see me, feel free to page
me... instructions are on the sign.
Cup-O MUD works fine with Netscape 4.7... I don't know about IE.
Oh, and @quit to exit the MOO and disconnect the client... if you just hit
"Home" or "Back" the client will stay connected until it is terminated by
the browser, which can be awhile.
