Discussion, mostly technical, about running Phoenyx groups goes here. Hypotheticals and wishlists go in stakeholders.

Advent Calendar Lessons

So here I am, running around the Internet looking for good PBeM
games, being as how I really didn't want the calendar to be just
Phoenyx games, especially since, well, we don't have 25 games.

And I'm thinking I should do this more often, because it's been kind
of educational.

One, I have reaffirmed that, by and large, Phoenyx games are a
whole lot better than what else is out there. It's hard to find
something decent and confirmably active.

Two, I've learned that it's really, REALLY hard to find out if a game
has openings. And this goes for Phoenyx games, too... something
I need to fix. I have a few ideas, but if anybody else wants to
discuss it, bring it up on +wish.

Three, I've learned that web forums are a lot more accessible to the
casual browser than mailing lists. I'm not sure if the Phoenyx' web
archives fill this niche.
