This is a category page.
The main page is the list of actual Phoenyx games in the category.
The first sidebar box is the list of related games pulled from the
Openings list, which will be replaced by a more complete profile.
The second sidebar box is the list of related games from Greg
Lindahl's PBM List, which he makes available for other sites to use.
(In between those two would be a "Related Links" box, if the
category owner had any.)

Same thing, only for an individual group. This one could also have
a links box in the sidebar, under the current-threads box.

(Oddly enough, a category can also be a discussion group. I'm not
sure if it ever would be, though.)

What sort of things could we put into the Related Links? Is it specifically
for games, or can that area be used to link to sites that are good resources
for the games. I know that in some of the genre space categories (Star
Trek, Star Wars, etc.) there are some excellent sites for reference
material.

I'm also intrigued by 'My Phoenyx' at the top of the page. I assume that
means we may be able to have a page customized with our preferences in the
future? Or showing the games we are currently playing or lurking in?

Some of whatever. Ideally, games should go in the profiled-by-
Phoenyx box, if you can persuade the gamemaster to fill it out.

I'm not quite sure what that page is going to look at. "My
Phoenyx" was almost a joke; it's the equivalent to the My
Settings/Log In button on the navbar... that is, it's the former if
you're logged in, the latter if you're not, but sometimes that menu
appears on static pages.

But since there *are* very few static pages anymore (basically
nothing outside the root directory, and whatever game pages are
hosted here), My Phoenyx could theoretically be a custom "portal
page" or whatever. I dunno yet. I'm open to ideas.

(All the sidebars will be available as RSS files (Netscape "headline"
files), so in theory you could put them on a My Netscape page; I'm
not sure we need to duplicate that ability.)

User blog?

Alright, I'm kidding about that part.

I guess if the listowner wanted to use it that way.

Good. On account of I really don't want to have anything significant
available on the web that isn't available by mail, and if a weblog
was anything significant, it'd be a mailing list, and I don't want to
give out a mailing list for every user.

(Do I?)

Um... I dunno. If you had a personal mailing list, what would you
do with it?

Fail to keep up with it.
