The navbar is thoroughly trashed on the deusx page (there's a
whole lot of gunk stuck in between the and the actual
image), or I'd put a blurb on the main page...

Welcome Jonathan, you've usurped my position as the newest gamemaster, but
someone had to do it.

We *really* discourage Flash or other gratiuitous high-bandwidth toys at
the Phoenyx... especially if you're hosting it on the Phoenyx server. We
don't have that kind of bandwidth to spare.

(Karen, we need to get a guideline for this kind of thing written. I'll
drop that in my todo folder.)

No problem. It wouldn't be hosted on the Phoenyx server and wouldn't be a
part of the main pages at all. If you wanted to watch it, you'd follow a
_clearly marked_ link and go somewhere totally seperate. Would that still
be a problem? I mean, I'll ditch it if you think it would still cause
bandwidth problems, but I was hoping to use it as a way to give a brief
description of what's happened in my campaign so far, so lurkers would have
an easy starting point. Still, it's something that's critical.

Whoa, that's supposed to be "it's NOT something that's critical." Didn't
mean to sound like a self-righteous prick, there.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jonathan

That's not a problem, and could even be beneficial and fun, as long as
it's optional... that is, nobody has to watch it to play in the game and
nobody's forced to go through it to reach the main content of your site.

Flash is a useful tool... there's just far too many web sites out there
using it in non-useful ways.

Thanks!
