On a serious note... do we just "circular file" these requests or do we actually respond to them? If the application looks serious but misguided (gothic_chick), I reply with an explaination of what we do and try to keep them from feeling like an idiot. If at all possible, find out where their mis-conception came from... we need that kind of info to improve our service.
