Multiple navbar mockups

Are available in the listowners files dir, at

They're mockups, and thus a little rough around the edges. And I
didn't make a vertical version, on account of I dunno what sort of
dimensions anyone would want. I did two color options, but no on-
white version, which people might also want.

As is a nifty little form (at the very bottom of the page) where you
can type in your URL (or Google's, or, heck, a pornsite's...) and
see what it would like like with the critter at the top.

(Those of you with weirdly homed/referenced graphics may not get
a completely correct display.)

Looks good so far - how close is this to the 'final' version?

Also: with the logged-in indicator, does this mean any site with the
navtable gives cookies?

For Kalyr it coughs and dies on the stylesheets :(

And I won't comment on what it does to the dreamlyrics site :)

Got me. Depends on what people think of it, I guess.

Sort of. It means the Phoenyx gives a cookie with the nav graphic.
But it's been doing that (for no good reason other than I was
testing and never turned it off) for about a year now.

Actually, now that I think about it, in the final version the graphic
actually isn't going to *give* any cookies. The cookie will be given
once, at login time, and the client will give *back* the cookie
whenever it requests the navbar graphic.

> For Kalyr it coughs and dies on the stylesheets :(

I suppose those count as weirdly referenced graphics. (It's using a
simple BASE tag in the HTML head, so if your browser doesn't use
that for stylesheets, and I have no idea if any do or should, then
any non-explicit references are going to get goofed up.)

> And I won't comment on what it does to the dreamlyrics site :)

Well, on mine it didn't do anything except put the navbar at the top.
At least, on the front page, I didn't go any farther than that.

They look good. I tried seeing what Rumors would like like with the
wrapper, and it really doesn't do much there, as I haven't gotten
around to making Rumors web site look like much yet.

You wouldn't happen to have an Imperial Sunburst version of the
Phoenyx logo, would you?

Ideally, it should do nothing except take up a little more real estate
at the top of the page. (48 pixel rows, at present; the current
navbar is what, 32?) You could integrate it into your page, I
suppose. Heck, we could have a few assorted web formats set up
for people to steal, come to that.

One of the paradigm shifts we're undergoing here is that instead of
trying to attract existing gamemasters who are just looking for a
place to play, we're going to be looking to acquire people as
members *before* they decide to run a game... so when they're
setting up their web page, they *already* have in mind that it's
going to be hosted here.

Er, no. It'd be kind of nifty to be able to have a genre-specific (i.e.
category-indicating) thing in the righthand logo space, but I
certainly don't want to put any game-company trademarks there.
(Unless the category owner wanted to get permission, at least.)

Like this too. I guess the flipped/non-flipped Phoenyx/game "boxen" (as
you call them) could be one of the main options when you pick the bar for
your page? Second thought, maybe it would be better to with something
universal ...? Personally, I like putting the Phoenyx box first. Puts all
us rowdy, independent GMs in our proper place, don't ya know.

Later.

Vertical version to a 100 x 400 would be nice. [grin] Pixels,
of course. [Not that I'm asking for any custom designs. I liked

just "The Glitter and the Glamour."
