MGR: Game Request Form DragonGuild (PR#1126)

I'm of mixed feelings about this one. I could use some opinions from the rest
of you.

Spelling and grammar isn't terrible. The concept seems a bit cheesy to me.

It's a classic D&D plot, of course it sounds cheesy...

I wonder how one works his/her way up the "change of command"? This comes from the guy that is still finding grammatical errors in his own site nine months later...

Any reference to a pre-existing website? I didn't see one. The demand exists for a 3rd ed. D&D game and I'm afraid Faedor is locked in at 16 PCs and I see the 3rd ed. Forgotten Realms game is closed as well.

I have to agree with Karen.

So it's melodramatic. Big deal. At least it has a defined structure
to the game and some work has gone into the setting.

I'd say "Yes" to it.

I concur. The idea sounds interesting enough, one of those epic
saga type campaigns where there is a clearly identifiable enemy...
Think of it as Star Wars with dragons. :O)

On a side note, I hope to add a few more players over the next
couple months to my 3rd ed. game; right now I'm at 8 but I'm still
weeding out "duds" (i.e., people who start out fine and then slow
down to posting 3 lines once every couple weeks...). Right now I
have a core of about 4 good players and 4 so-so's; once I get
things straightened out I'll open enrollment again.

You will, of course, post a note to Phoenyx News (or to me here,
whatever) when you're ready to make an announcement.

So will everyone else. Of course.

Actually, the Thank-you page is missing. I should fix that. It's
working, it just doesn't quite look like it.

Ah in that case you probably got 3 or 4 copies of my same item
(which you probably already know). :O)

[snipped]

Hey, it looks okay to me. And aren't we a little low on 3rd ed games
right now? I mean, it's not totally original and new, but it's certainly
not bad.

That doesn't concern me... I don't want to change our standard of quality
because we're a little "low" on a particular genre or game.

My real concern is whether he'll make a good gamemaster, and I'm having a
lot of trouble evaluating that.

Have you done some followup with him already? Maybe asked some questions
or something? (I probably sound ignorant here, excuse me if I'm pointing
out the blindingly obvious -- I'm new (ish))

"...with tragic backgrounds ending in a pure hate of Alukai or one of his
Mage Marshalls."

We might want to encourage him to expand on this particular background
element to allow for more shades of gray. The game will be more satisfying
for the players (and the DM) in the long term if the characters reasons for
banding together are more diverse even if they are all united in their
dislike of the bad guys.

Can I have his Players Handbook?...my 1e is as battered as hell.

Seriously...he sounds credible enough..give him a chance.
