MGR: game request hanover (PR#1479)

Hi, Thom,

I recently recreated up the 'hanover' group for you, but you not completed the
setup (descriptions, etc.) and there has been no activity. Are you still
planning on getting this game up and running? Is there anything we can do to
help speed things along?

[ Please always reply to the from line (support@phoenyx.net) and
don't change the subject line so that the ticket tracking software
  can track your email. ]

Huh. How'd I manage to send this here? Yup, I typed in "managers" for
some brain-dead reason. "managers" and "hanover-owner" aren't all that
different, so it's probably not that uncommon of a mistake.

Oh, well... Thom ought to see it anyway. :)

MGR: New Rolemaster Campaign on Phoenyx!

Hello Fellow Managers!

My name is Magnus Bjerner. For politeness' sake I'd like to introduce myself, and for the sake of my soon-to-arrive RM campaign, I'd like to introduce that as well.

Me: long term Rolemaster addict, now with far too little spare time to keep a "real" campaign going. I still can't let go of Fantasy roleplaying completely, though, and a good PbEM is a lot better than nothing. 31 years old. MA degree in English Language Studies. 3rd Kyu in Iwama Ryu Aikido. 2 kids. Organ player. I live just outside Stockholm.

My game: a dark fantasy quest which I expect will take at least one year to complete in PbEM version. I have run portions of it in sit-down mode. I use RMSS with a bunch of house rules, mostly to do with character creation, magic use and experience award. The setting is entirely home-spun and the flavour is very un-tolkien, in favour of something in between Shakespeare and Pullman, I suppose. It is called Cragbain the Bald, which is the name of the Emperor of Aíraneea, the Northern part of the Twin Kingdom.

The Cragbain web page is not up yet, but I'm working on it. It will feature an overview of the game world, its religions and peoples, and an explanation of the house rules in some detail. I don't consider it an absolute necessity to know RM in order to play, but if you have never opened a RM rulebook, you will have serious trouble playing a magic user!

When I've finished my web page, I have everything except players... I really look forward to running my own campaign, doing my utmost to keep players satisfied, interactive AND on their toes.

Best wishes,

Magnus B aka Magnus Robotfighter

Yup, I saw it.

Second time is also not a charm, apparently - I've done a few emails
but can't get things really rolling. I support the Phoenix and what
they do and stand for, but I can't contribute a healthy game at this
time. Please "shut 'er down" Mr. Carl.

I'm running one healthy PBEM and working on a couple of PBEM
style wargames (through Cyberboard) and other games (ever heard
of Lost Worlds?) so I'm certainly not un-loved (or un-busy).

When I'm ready to launch another PBEM, I'll give a ring. Oh, and
I'll keep my subscriptions here (GMAST and Managers) if you please.
