Since the wacky Outlook top-posting method breaks the web forums, and people don't seem to listen when I ask them to stop, I've implemented a technological solution. Messages that have the Outlook "Original Message" flag in the middle of them get truncated at that point, on the assumption that everything thereafter is a complete quote of a previous message. If the "Original Message" line is at the top, it assumes it's a properly interleaved response, and leaves it alone. If this is breaking actual content, let me know. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

It seems to be limiting to about three paragraphs (might be a 1K limit or something?) I had to post the whole (3.4k) message in four parts (the last of which got moderated because I'd exceeded the daily posting limit). -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): Kalyr Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

That's fixed, now... it's not truncating anything, Original Message or otherwise. I'm going to have to revive testlist and fix it properly, I guess. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

My message wasn't *that* long. I'll try reposting it so my players don't have to knit together four portions of one post. Once the web forum is up and running I might abandon the "Summary post and response" format for Kalyr. I don't use for my games on Dreamlyrics, and it takes a lot of time to edit the posts, which is the main reason I only post once a week. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): Kalyr Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

That's an advantage to the web forum (and NNTP, if you have a newsreader like XNews that can pull up a References with a click)... no mass-duplication of previous content. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

This feels like I'm at work :) (My current job is system testing.
