Yep, we're still here.

It's just resting.

The neighbor's driveway looked much the same, but that red truck you see
over there is her dad, who came over to tie chains to the branches and
pull them out of the way... they're not *that* big, but they're now iced
down.

The view south of our house. I think it's typical of the view north, but
there are vehicles in the way (our neighbor has an RV). I looked last
night, though. Oh, and the neighbor's house is for sale, if you ever
wanted to live in Wichita, Kansas. You'll notice very little of *her*
trees fell down. But that big critter out in the street farther down?
Embedded in at least two inches of ice.

When the light gets better, and I put some shoes on, I'll take better
pictures.

This pretty much picks up where the exelm picture left off, though I'm out
on the sidewalk and looking more up at it (although it looks vertical,
that trunk leans toward the house quite a bit).

This is the hackberry over our house. Healthy trees lost a lot of minor
branches, and the back side of our roof is probably littered with junk
from this one, but so far nothing major.

Cottonwoods are nominally hardwoods, but they cope with prairie winds (and
the occasional ice storm) by being fast-growing to make up for the heavy
damage they take. On the plus side, this particular loss will mean less
annoying fluff blowing into our yard next spring.

This is the promised look north on our street. Kind of hard to pick out
all the fallen stuff, but as I was standing amid the fallen elm branches
when I took the shot, you get a better idea of their scale: taller than my
five-foot-three self.

We lost power earlier for about 45 minutes, but the UPS held up and it
hasn't flickered since. It's snowing right now, and the wind is supposed
to pick up, so we're not necessarily out of the woods outage-wise.

Oddly, there's not much on the roof. And though many probably wouldn't
believe it, the owner had this tree trimmed back quite a bit a couple
years ago. It used to have far _more_ hanging over our house.

We were reduced to 50% battery charge in 45 minutes. We're back up to 78%
charge now (give or take the lack of accuracy in measuring battery
charge).
